I am listening to it now. It isn't bad, it just doesn't slap you in the face with amazement.
i hate myspace
which is a shame after such a long wait. sounds good, but not as good as it could sound if that makes sense? cool riff, but nothing that hits you in the face as "oh my god you can tell he's been writing that for 12 years" or however long..
i dunno what do you think?
Has anyone told them that those Chinese characters in the logo don't mean anything?
I fear this album could POSSIBLY be one of teh biggest letdowns ever. That is all I'll say for now cos I haven't listened to it or anything but I fear there will be a pretty phenomenal crash of disappointment in the aftermath of it's wider release.
That is all for now.
amen to that
?? - Minzhu: ? Min ?People) ? Zhu ?Master/Lord) - interestingly a very similar etymology to the English word Democracy. After all, they did have 12 years to get it right, didn't they?!
Never mind. The above is still correct though!
if the world..
the rest's ok though
If the World is dreadful. Sounds like terrible Jamiroquai... ha. Better is good though.
no one had the guts to tell him.
his voice is still amazing though and it has it's moments. Just nowhere near as many as it needed to have.
were not cool at the time and are not cool now. Fact.
They were always a joke band. With stupid hair.
Yes. The reason: Because Guns and Roses were never all that good.
The first album is superb! The rest of it is certainly not.
that tracks a bit week, but I love shacklers.
but this is a pretty decent review: http://www.avclub.com/content/feature/chuck_klosterman_reviews, and I say that as someone who finds Chuck Klosterman really irritating.
'On the aforementioned "Sorry," Rose suddenly sings an otherwise innocuous line ("But I don't want to do it") in some bizarre, quasi-Transylvanian accent, and I cannot begin to speculate as to why. I mean, one has to assume Axl thought about all of these individual choices a minimum of a thousand times over the past 15 years. Somewhere in Los Angles, there's gotta be 400 hours of DAT tape with nothing on it except multiple versions of the "Sorry"
vocal. So why is this the one we finally hear? What finally made him decide, "You know, I've weighed all my options and all their potential consequences, and I'm going with the Mexican vampire accent. This is the vision I will embrace. But only on that one line! The rest of it will just be sung like a non-dead human."'
Raz will get you with a biting retort. Or something.
re: the transylvanian accent, and totally true. ace.
I'm too busy drinking Dr Pepper
it's just atrocious! AY TRO SHUSS.
Its not only bad for Guns'n'Roses, but its bad for any band
No anthems. No big songs. No bangers. Not exciting.
and I thought it was quite, quite awful.
Axel's voice sounded terrible...I don't think I can really bring myself to listen to the album.
I think whoever said that it was amazing it took Axl 15 years to come up with a sound that Velvet Revolver knocked out it 5 minutes got it right
it sounds ok but it was never going to live up to any of the hype was it
goes on a bit though, about three ballads too many...
the start of their single, better, sounds like the klaxons
and i wrote what i thought. then i got flamed to hell by axl rose fans...
You shouldnt listen to music before 9am
It's listenable anyway. The three tracks with Buckethead sound awesome!
but quite good
Why would I?
and it really is quite, quite horrible so far.
Axl, Dizzy Reed and a bunch of hacks.
It's even worse than the Stone Roses circa Reading 1996.
from start to end in the list on Myspace.
That probably tells you what you need to know.
I had to stop at that point, so I didn't get to hear whether you thought it was better or worse than Seasick Steve's latest.
It's bloody gash.
We all knew it would be.
The fact that it took that knob-end with the bandana Christ-knows-how-long to write this piece of unmitigated bollocks is quite amusing.
patience and november rain, i thought there would be more RAWK not nu-metal and borderline r'n'b
