It makes me sad the thought that I'll never see Earl Brutus live now forever. I adored them when I was younger and at the tender age of 16 songs like "Male Milk" have a massive "rude but ace" quality. One of the first singles I bought for my record player was "Life's Too Long" and songs like "Navyhead" and "Come Taste My Mind" always appeared on educational mixtapes I made for others. I also picked up a World of Twist tape for £1 at a car boot sale off the back of researching the band's origins. Earl Brutus made me want to be in a band as they showed what being in a band should be - silly raucous sweaty lairy fun. And I always think of Earl Brutus whenever I see a rotating garage forecourt sign. I feel so so sad Nick Sanderson's gone.
