Has anyone worked with a good producer in London recently? 90's type sound
Grunge, trip hop, happy hardcore?
Umm, more powerpop Teenage Fanclub, Weezer, Wilco ish
Pete there works pretty quick and did a good job the one time I used him. There's more than 1 engineer there though, so maybe you might want to check.
you want to check out dem
Looks great. Have you recorded there? Is the down time actually cheap or still big bucks
i'll email u.
If you can afford that, why not just buy all the equipment you need and do it at home ? Even if it takes longer to get the right sound, you'll know you can always come back to it later/in the middle of the night to tweak things without any worries about paying extra...
more recently he's done the johnny foreigner ep and the latest dananananaykroyd 7", which i guess is kind of a 90's-ish sound, and older stuff like Big Black, Shellac, My Bloody Valentine, Fugazi, Jesus and Mary Chain, PJ Harvey is obviously a plus.
does anyone know what the rates are like for southern, out of curiosity? you can't check on the site, you have to email.
Google it. x
Cheers for all of this. Gonna have a good look through now
berry st is a good cheaper option. and a cool live room too
Up in Ladbroke Grove - nice guys, great set-up and cheap.
which we booked primarily because of the people we know that have used it, really friendly and flexible and a lot of space to avoid the dreaded 'studio tan', we've even gone back to get what we recorded mixed after we spent months trying to do it ourselves... [FAIL]
We're really looking for someone who's gonna give a shit not just a studio where the dudes puts in minimum effort so he can get away at 6.
