He's crap himself. Eric Clapton's crap too.
ive lost all respect for you now
Fuck off Zeppelin!
Led Zep WERE good and the reunion was lame yes!
i'ts granddad rock ... dadrock these days is the pixies
Same with Jimmy Page and Clappo they're all senile bastards hell bent on cementing their status as rock gods or whatever. Even though it was done 40 years ago! Still pretty funny but it comes as a bit of a suprise for him to start spouting that shit, like what has he done since Cream that's been noticeable?
Cream kicked off the blues revival in the late 60s. They quit at their commercial peak.
Then Led Zep took it and ran with it. While Clapton was getting huge success with his own cringeworthy solo stuff like Layla, Led Zep were selling out stadiums on both sides of the Atlantic, and poor old Jack Bruce was doing fuck all.
I reckon its regret.
Cream are the worst british rock band of all time! Awful Awful Awful! Why are'nt they all dead yet? Theres no justice in the world, is there? >:/
u r so obv rong coz dey r nt wrst band of all tym.
n hw dare u say i hope dey all die u r gay.
but could I have a translation for the over-40s please ?
Its all a matter of taste but I'd far rather listen to Clapton's guitar playing with Cream than Page's with Zep. Cream played songs rather than "pieces".
I saw a cracking Cream tribute band in Holland last year, witha girl singer / bassist doing the Jack Bruce role. Obviously they had to be named after a Cream song, and more power to them for not going with "Strange Brew" or "Badge" but instead plumping to be named after a veneral disease - "NSU".
by responding with an equally childish reply.
I prefer Led Zep at the moment. I haven't got into Cream yet, but Led Zep seem to have a bit more of a sharp bite to them. And stuff like 'Your Time Is Gonna Come' is unique in its amazingness.
- still agree with you mind. I know I'm in a minority regarding Zep but they just don't do it for me apart from the odd track, usually the folkier ones. The Who rocked harder, and Yes had better album covers.
don't diss Cream they were really good!!
If not for Ginger Baker alone.
Don't worry they will die soon enough, the life expectancy must surely be lower if you were a 60's rockstar...It has to be, unless your part crocodile like that fella Keef.
Ilove his arguement at the end, 'basically there crap were good, how can you deny it?'
i will attempt to kill you with my mind
and he's entitled to his opinion
i disagree,but stilljack bruce <3
It would be wrong of me to assume that people who played with him in the sixties are terrible human beings by association but i am going to. Fuck you Jack Bruce and fuck you Clapton apologists, he should be unceremoniously dumped into the sea.
Clapton who played with The Band, The Beatles and The Yardbirds?
Ummmm - no.
... and he's a great musician, but there remains his comments in 1974, made on stage, about Britain becoming a "black colony" and agreeing with Enoch Powell's views on immigration and repatriation.
In 1976, a drunken Eric Clapton voiced his support of Powell onstage during a concert in Birmingham, also stating that England had "become overcrowded" and was in danger of becoming "a black colony." As a result, Clapton didn't play in Birmingham again for a decade, and his remarks were a major factor in the eventual formation of Rock Against Racism
Clapton went on to voice his opinion to the audience that Britain should "get the foreigners out, get the wogs out, get the coons out" and then repeatedly shouted the National Front slogan "Keep Britain White". Huddle, Saunders and two members of Kartoon Klowns responded by writing a letter to NME expressing their opposition to Clapton's comments, which they claimed were "... all the more disgusting because he had his first hit with a cover of reggae star Bob Marley's 'I Shot the Sheriff'". The letter continued: "Come on Eric... Own up. Half your music is black. Who shot the Sheriff, Eric? It sure as hell wasn't you!". At the end of the letter, they called for people to help form a movement called Rock against racism, and they report that they received hundreds of replies.
Further support for RAR came after David Bowie stated in a Playboy interview that "Britain is ready for a fascist leader", and by allegedly making a Nazi salute while riding in a convertible. Bowie later retracted the fascist comment, claiming that the statement was a result of substance abuse. He denied making a Hitler salute, arguing that a photographer caught him in the middle of waving. In-depth analysis of Bowie's statements during the interview and during other interviews at the time have also shown that his message was in reality anti-fascist.
In a 2004 interview with Uncut magazine, Clapton referred to a 1976 controversy when he had made an onstage statement against increasing immigration and voiced support for the controversial political candidate Enoch Powell, and stated that Powell was "outrageously brave". and stated that his "feeling about this has not changed", because the UK is still "... inviting people in as cheap labour and then putting them in ghettos." However, Clapton has stated that "There's no way I could be a racist. It would make no sense". In 2007, Clapton reiterated his support for Enoch Powell and denied that Powell's views were racist.
Jimmy Page is much better than Eric Clapton
forcing BB King to sit in the back of the car
Enoch Powell's speech had a lot of validity to it. This was proved on 7/7.
His huge error was basing his predictions on racial grounds as opposed to cultural ones, and obviously the fact he chose the wrong people to aim his speech at.
His 'picaninny' thing was also fucking stupid. But I don't think he deserves a lot of the hatred he receives.
then says the same stuff again and mentions that the only good guy in the band is now dead?
Maybe his sense of humour is a bit darker than we thought hey
it just smacks of jealousy, which at least he has the sense to admit. talk about digging your own hole though!
What kind of name's that?
Sounds a bit gay, doesn't it?
oh man,that would be brilliant
i thought you were srs there for a second
