I'd pay Bright Eyes, like, a million pounds to do a tour of this in it's entirety.
ive seen very few lifted songs live
And have him do all the major places.
and I hate his guts (this is true but i'm just posting it because i'm sure you did the same thing with Lightning Bolt the other day)!
when all the dreadlocked dudes appeared from nowhere for Aphex Twin at the Portishead one
I bet nobody was on the internet complaining after that one.
I have no photos of Oberst but he was hammered and fell off the stage into the arms of some teenage girls. I have typed that so many times on here. Should probably quit
that photo was from about 10am sunday morning. First time I saw oberst he was supporting arab strap at a firkin I remember thinking 'this is the worst thin i've ever seen'
but I remember they were playing the first Liars album in between the bands and it sounded miles better than any of them
it makes me feel alive.
The most I've felt in ages.
come to think of it can't think of any 'creek bands playing, maybe they hate them.
Oh we could be, lifted up today
Lifted all the way, you and I forever
Baby, lifted, lifted, lifted, hey
I'm sure you meant the Lighthouse Family
What a fool I am!
many underestimate the power of the Family.
"Lifted..." didn't do nearly as much for me as I'm told it should have. I actually prefer "Wide Awake..." but it doesn't have any tunes on it as good as "Lover I Don't Have To Love" or "Waste of Paint."
I'm shallow, I know, but 'Ocean Drive' and, of course, 'High' just get me right there.
and i'd say that most of the time i probably prefer wide awake as well, but when you are in the right mood for lifted, there's nothing in the world that can beat it
so many brilliant lyrics on it. waste of paint and lets not shit ourselves... are both incredible.
because it's more emo, but I think i'd much rather see lifted in full live, with an orchestra and drum corps
to be honest, bright eyes is something i have to be in the mood to listen to, but when i'm in that certain mood it is brilliant and i enjoy pretty much everything he's done. i think lyrically lifted is his most cohesive effort, but f & m and wide awake are pretty close. i cant say i've ever managed to really get into cassadaga though, which is a bit of a shame.
it's probably my favourite album by anyone ever
good choice pop
I feel very much the same way. I might get all of DiS to join in a listen-a-long one night.
La la la la . . .
It'd be magical.
I just watched Built To Spill play Perfect From Now On with Jamie Summers. That's at least 1000x better than anything Bright Eyes ever have done or ever will do.
(Let's Not Shit Ourselves is pretty rad though, but that's basically all I like)
THREE GUITARISTS A CELLIST AND A BASSIST AND A DRUMMER
three fucking soloing guitars! facemelting.
I'm too good for you.
What an artist.
"Well you said that I treat you like a book on a shelf: I don't take you out that often 'cos I know that I completed you..."
Hearts, kisses, and hugs all round.
Is my favorite Bright Eyes album I think is amazing
