Pulled Apart by Horses, Sky Larkin, Dinosaur Pile-Up, ultCult... I vote 'Yes'.
ultCult are shit.
I wasn't very impressed
and I really liked whatever the song was, but I just checked out their MySpace again and it's a load of bollocks.
I saw them at Tiger Trap the DiSer ran club night the night was good but that band where really lame, apart from the drummer.
I've not had one of those in ages, not since I made a pun about nuns and sex...
WHAT A HERO!!
I'd misrepresented myself and was correcting the situation. Don't be a knob.
But the rest is still shit.
it's pretty good.
Ramadanman (although he just moved to France)
his label is awsome though
Pangaea (he is co-owner of that label)
Also alot of Chinchilla Tone peeps...
i don't like them that much though.
All the chinchilla-related stuff is awesome: cowtown, tigers!, a.p.a.t.t, quack quack, bilge pump, lords, printed circuit, kling klang, scarecrows, Inecto School, Trencher, Brown Owl, and of course David Thomas Broughton.
Plus loads of bands i haven't heard who are probably awesome. Therefore, i vote yes also.
Or Benjamin Wetherill.
Dinosaur Pile-Up are ace!
i'm going to have band or two next june looking for dates in a uk tour. no idea about who runs good things up north.
they'll do you good. website is up there somewhere i think ^
i'll take it down, its still something absurd like 8 months till the tour but no harm getting stuff done early.
Just thought I'd put that out there...
The album's shaping up to be utterly brilliant...
who havent been mentioned
in my top albums this year.
good leeds gig tonight for those that like jangly dischord-esque rockouts and chiming unwound/sonic youth riffs: Wooderson & Ox Scapula at Royal Park Cellars (£4).
as for leeds promoters, Fancy Claps, Dirty Otter, Chinchilla, Room 237 and On the Bone seem to be doing a large percentage of the great gigs at the moment.

Held By Hands - http://www.myspace.com/heldbyhands
Crayon - http://www.myspace.com/crayoncrayon
Tigers That Talked - http://www.myspace.com/tigersthattalked
Vest For Tysso - http://www.myspace.com/vestfortysso
Mechanical Owl - http://www.myspace.com/mechanicalowl
And my latest find (for fans of Pavement, Sebadoh etc)...
Wonderswan - http://www.myspace.com/wonderswanband
and wonderswan are an absolute joke live, even though i enjoy their demos.
paid to see them yet some how missed them, oh well
are really rather good
....officer owl but i guess they remain largely unknown
they sound good!
I like the first song on the Officer Owl myspace.
Uprights and Mob Rules are great, but I can't think of many other "new" bands I like right here now.
Constantly hearing of cool stuff happening there, That Fucking Tank are awesome, all the Salt the Wound Records stuff is cool as well.
I think Liverpool is definitely getting better too!
ace to see Salt the Wound Records getting a mention and castrovalva too.
the velvet orchestra are awesome too, they're partly from leeds.
tigers! are still one of my favourite leeds bands.
... although it's time for at least one of the bands to do something totally amazing album wise.
These Monsters haven't been mentioned yet.
saw them the other night at a predominantly metal gig and they were Fantastic.
year of the man
Dinosaur pile up
Old Romantic Killer Band
That Fucking Tank
Whores Whores Whores
David Thomas Broughton
Red Stars Parade
add quack quack and two minute noodles as well.
leeds is the best place to live for bands that are amazing and safe as fuck. everyone come!
We're playing with Castrovalva in Liverpool soon, can't wait! So many cool bands on that list.
oh well... i'll get me coat...
why do I always forgot your from Leeds? I'm an idiot.
Man I'm so skint I didn't even have enough cash for a train to leeds to see you guys the otehr night, gutted :(
enough love for Wintermute on this thread. Amazing band
Monster Killed By Lazer
best band I saw at brainwash.
better than pulled apart by shitting horses.
Two Minute Noodle were a whole load of fun, Pulled apart by Horses somehow leave me cold too, it's just been done too many times and feels too contrived to be exciting.
I really like two minute noodles, I think I got a CD from them when they supported Daedelus, good music.
that adores Sky Larkin and worriedaboutsatan?
both bands are amazing, cannot wait for either albums and really hope they both get a lot more recognition...they both deserve a lot of praise!
Her Name Is Calla yet?
both amazing bands.
still, worth shouting about, eh?!
The Declining Winter
Gareth S Brown
The Rosie Taylor Project (for all fans of twee indie pop)
aren't a leeds band
it says leeds/ leicester/ york on their myspace. and they're on a leeds label and play in leeds a lot.
they also have 'i heart leeds 4eva' tattooed on their foreheads and pictures of themselves kissing the leeds united badge on their arses.
Pattern - http://www.myspace.com/patternuk
I'm not playing with them tomorrow in Fenton, but I do like them.
'Int Leeds brilliant' and all that. And look what happened to them. Actually, nothing happened to them, they were always a bit turd.
I quite like Leeds, played there a couple of times and know some kids who run an ace night - Bad Taste - there. But you have no fucking road signs anywhere, you bastards. Thank fuck for sat nav
yeah, if i didnt know where most things were round here i'd be going in circles!
they are from Leeds so I'll use this opportunity to mention them again www.myspace.com/rampantrabbitsafe.
Also ult cult were alright when I saw them, their drummers hair was IMPRESSIVE.
rampant rabbit are awesome, Leeds band Castrovalva www.myspace.com/castrovalvamusic might be going on tour with them mid next year.
I saw them tonight supporting Grammatics, and I was impressed.
I really do like Grammatics, I am quite hopeful for them in 2009, with their album due out in February. Their new single The Vague Archive is out on Monday - I've got a copy on 7" and it needs radio play.
they're from hebden bridge, i've had to put up with them a few times.
