Am I honestly the only person in the entire world who thinks they're a total crock of shit?
I think they are ok, I kinda got bored of their last album in a week or so though.
I find myself wholly unmoved by them
but baring that and a few others I'm kinda none plused by them, and probibly wont find myself listening to them in a hurry.
I bet it's quite good fun live though, if your drunk and there are people around you having fun.
'Patty Lee' isn't even in their top 20 best songs. christ.
i disagree completely. in fact, sometimes it's annoying the fact that tim harrington's antics detract somewhat from their amazing songs and overall musicianship. seth jabour is one of the best indie-rock guitarists around and virtually every song on 'inches' is amazing.
Raging in the Plague Age, Yawn Yawn Yawn...
While I appreciate his showmanship, it can take attentions away from the purity and brilliance of much of the band's material. 'Go Forth' FTW, by the way.
they're pretty fucking awesome.
but I find their wacky, Harrington-focused show kind of irritating, plus I think they've got about 4 good songs and then loads of filler. But who cares what I think! I'm not even sure I care what I think
when you've been seeing them do the samish sorta thing, about 15 times live, for about 8 years now maybe! (:-P by the way)...they've never topped that first time at The Lift in Brighton for me, and the one at the Dublin Castle was also amazing...(double :-P)
'it's hard to carry on getting excited about em...' I would never say they're s88t cos they blatently ain't.
"ich notten keenenburgen frau", german fans
Their live performances are starting to grow very wearisome. STICK THAT IN YOUR PIPE AND SMOKE IT.
spoke to quite a few people at release the bats last night who agreed they sounded like a shitty U2 covers band.
people = morons
just that they dont sound like a shitty u2 covers band. You could put an "if" at the beginning.
I find it quite funny that that U2 comparison came from chris alcxxk's review of one of their gigs on here.
Album wise they are very hit and miss. Although I love The Cat And The Cobra, the rest tends to have only a few good songs. Some ace tracks though- Yawn, Yawn, Yawn, The Equestrian and The Sweat Descends etc
and both 'Inches' and 'Rome' are great records.
it was probably the best crowd i've seen at a london gig in the last couple of years. the whole of the lower standing bit was churning away. anyone see tim harrington spit a mouthful of fake blood into someone standing in the front rows mouth. classy.
I was right behind him. It was pretty sick (not in the good way).
I've enjoyed LSF the two times that I've seen them, but then I don't really like them on record so I doubt I'd make the effort to see them again. I think the 'novelty' of their live shows has kinda worn off for me.
There was nothing not cool about that.
Anyone who says otherwise has probably had all their joy removed surgically.
that bit was pretty ace.
have a small handful of ok songs but overall its a bir shit.
it just takes a while to sink in just how good they are, if last night was the first time you had seem them though I would be sympathetic if you didn't get it, I certainly didn't.
It must have been the funnest gig I've ever seen, and one of the best frontmen I've ever seen. I was standing at the front and he dived into the crowd and grabbed my neck, then proceeded to writhe around the floor in front of me!
