but not really! i dont care, theyre frustratingly over my head.
DIS JUST GOT PUNKKKKKKEEEEEDDDDDDDDD
anyway wont it? Like a dictaphone with a copy of pet sounds playing on it, at the bottom of a copper pot.
just like in the 70's.
, the illusion being that Animal Collective possess talent and such. will there ever be an end to my witty animal collective based quips?!
other than the time i actually attended an Animal Collective concert by mistke.
basically just paid for itself, didnt it?!! hahahahahahahahaa god im so wired.
there's a special place I have that's deep inside of me
an elusive voice that tells me what I like now
you might think i'm gonna judge you in your tasting place
but I don't really give so much credit to what taste does
because I don't care if you don't like that
you get your feelings hurt
but i'll forget that
and if i'm liking you its for your simple ways
we won't always be at the tasting place
you can cook a roast
but I don't those
think about it think think about it
'Mr Vain' they were doing.
i was watching my cousins band rehearse last week and there was a band next door who had obviously been influenced by animal collective, their gear was crap though and they sounded like Eels with back-ache.
not really! i think its fairly accurate dont you? i always think of crappy ladies jewellery being swished around in a Wok when i hear it.
they don't sound anything like the beach boys, really
i have two words for you,Strawberry Jam mate.
the Panda Bear record is the same
surprisingly as someone who's going to argue about random asinine commentary about AC I have heard those albums and even more shockingly I don't think they sound remotely like the beach boys, i'd be interested to hear which songs in particular sound like them.
quote from Panda Bear in an interview from 2007:
"both strawberry jam, and indeed my own solo effort, have been heavily influenced by the Beach Boys records, i even have one of those retro 'pet sounds' leather sports bags"
"i hope no one discovers that our trademark sound of ladies jewellery being swished around in a Wok, is literally the sound of ladies jewellery being swished around in a Wok. Hold on, dude, you're taping this interview?!!!!"
it was for Pitchfork as well, so it must be true. they even gave a scarf that Panda Bear was wearing a rating of 9.6
That's not to say I don't like them - I have after all only heard Strawberry Jam and there is much to be admired about that album, unquestionably. But I'm not sure I can say with all honesty that I like them. The sound hasn't worked for me yet though I have moved from an abject disdain for it to a mild curiosity.
Is Strawberry Jam the best place to start with AC? Admittedly, it may be like trying to get into Radiohead by starting with Kid A.
I dunno, its different for different people, i'd say feels or water curses are the easiest.
thats Domino Recordas Propaganda! but seriously, i get your point. i hated Gang Gang Dance with a passion until i heard their new record.
