there can only be one
it's just more versatile, but baby still has a place in my heart especialy when shouted like: mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm BABY..... YEAH!!!!!!
it's like "yeaaaah", whilst "baby" is like "BBBBBBUUUUUUHHHHHHH*guttural groan*HHHHBBAAAAAAYYYYYBEEEEEEEEHH". "Yeah" is one note, "baby" has an exploratory lifespan, it can go low as you like then croak up to highness or stay at a squealing high or anything. "Yeah" has nothing like that. It's just "yeah"
YYYYYyyyyyahhhhhhh mmmmmmmm ow!
yeah *whisper* mmmmm yeah
OWHHHH! YEAH ALRIGHT!!!!!!!!
maybe your right a good baby is never a bad thing
and the word itself doesn't have the emotional range, yeah can be sad, happy, orgasmic, doomed, anything... youre never gonna hear an old delta blues man with their voice cracking finish a song with 'baby, baby, baby' are you?
PLEASE GOD SOMEBODY TELL ME HE'S JOKING
my point about range stands.
you've only got the two:
- I can't stop loving my baby
- my baby's gone
babies run across every facet of emotion from despair to elation. "Baby" is truly the most malleable word in the whole musical lexography. BAYYBE BAYYYYBE BAAAYYYYYYYBEEEEEE
see if it beats
- James Brown - please, please, please especially but owt really
- James Hetfield - the yeah-uh thing
- Stooges - end of Search & Destroy
i'm just the librarian
not a very helpful librarian
let the records show that he said "a good baby". Can you, the people of the jury, vote anything other than guilty after that unavoidable piece of proof
I have put my foot in it.... NOT THE BABY!!! ummmmmmmm I need a lawyer stat!
baby just about has the edge on atrocities, plus please, please, please puts yeah well in to the black . i would have to be able to keep ice ice baby though.
Mr Brown's output actually. the yeahs per minute on Live At The Apollo must be pretty high.
think i love the ronnettes 'be my baby' and usher's 'yeah' equally.
Yeah is gayer.
Loads of brilliant blues singers just used to sing 'baaaaaaaaaaaaybee' over their riffs with little bits like 'you do me wrong' and shit. And WOW it works.
and would like you to prove your position with youtube links.
then i'll defer to greater knowledge
so I asked itunes.
"Yeah" got 12 hits.
"Baby" got 155.
I believe that's a landslide.
Best demonstrated in Faith by George Michael.
