I am saying Cold Roses. Lets open it up?
2. Love is Hell pt.1
3. Suicide Handbook
pretty good list.
Actually my list is probably different everytime so might aswell do it again and see what it is today:
2. Rock n Roll
3. Cold Roses
5. Love is Hell
(will do it again in ten mins when i suspect it will be different again.
Love Is Hell is better than anything else.
Part 2 in particular.
its a tie between demolition and love is hell.
Best Album = Cold Roses
Worst Album = 29
Best Song = So Alive
Worst Song = The Sadness
Worst - either easy tiger or the brand new one... with rock and roll coming close behind
but I really like it. Excellent in fact.
What is so different about it?
Couldn't possibly rank the albums, but I spend ALL my free time creating 'perfect' Ryan Adams albums for friends who've never heard of him.
He has an astonishing amount of classic songs. For me, the most consistent song writer of our generation, I never go a day without listening to him.
With hit and miss results. I think he is the best songwriter, possibly ever, and I dont care who knows it. Is it time to see him yet?
His blog (which has been pulled today) pointed to a fallout between him and The Cardinals. Apparently he was quite ill and ended a show early and they didn't take him seriously. Maybe nothing will come of it but, while I think the Cards are talented guys, I'd love to have Adams go solo and crazy-prolific again.
what did it say?
I imagine they'll be talking about it at tobeyoung.org
Said something like "I can't wait to finish my job so I can get back to work with people who care/are actually interested" and "number of cardinals who asked how I was = 0. Number of their albums I give a fuck about = 0"
During all this there was a lot of language about how ill he is, then the sidebar of the cardinals blog was changed to say "we are a corporation. It's all a lie" or something...
such a little shit isn't he?
just to see the massive mood swings. I think his music's just as much a product of that though, his head clearly never shuts up. You'd imagine the band are well versed in how he can be.
There's some absolutely amazing songs on there, and come to think of it, only 2 or 3 genuinely sub-standard ones. I think Heartbreaker's always going to be my favourite album but, generally, I've never disliked anything he's done (apart from maybe Rock'N'Roll but I don't actually own it I can't be certain).
