Who is going?
rather obviously I suppose. Saw M&A last night and it was great. The sound was much better than in Sheffield. Hopefully tonight will be just as good. Oh and if anyone was hoping to catch TTNG as well then you'll have to get there early. I think we're first on now :-)
Used that a bit to much there didn't I? Idiot!
I love Tropics though. Maps & Atlases haven't clicked with me yet.
you'll not get a chance to see them for fucking ages. come.
it's not really ideally located is it? busses or tube?
I always used to get one from Liverpool St. Can't remember the number, maybe a 149?
A fair few buses go from Liverpool St to Dalston/Stoke Newington...
Hammersmith Apollo? Shepherd's Bush? Bloody west london.
Sorry, I don't like the word empire. I'm the white Benjamin Zephaniah.
The Guardian's prophecies are coming true!
it's really, REALLY not.
It takes 10 min more to get to shepherd's bush empire for me, and I live in frickin highbury
yes i am.
i can as well when the overground is running, but shows there usually overrun and i've spent more nights than i care to remember waiting for a bus on balls pond road in the freezing cold than i care to think about.
What time will TTNG be on?
but probably not
im aiming for 7:10
they were pretty good, but not as good as they were when i saw them before. his voice was more nasal (in a bad way) and the entire night was just a little... bleh. i dunno.
I enjoyed last night. I thought they were ace. Crowd reaction was a bit poor, but then it was a Monday night.
when i saw them before they were first on as part of a three band bill but there still seemed to be more... enthusiasm somehow. maybe new yorkers are just less inhibited.
i suppose partly it might just be that i'd seen it before so i knew what to expect. i mean, don't get me wrong, it was still good, but i was wowed when i saw them the first time, and this time i wasn't really.
any maps and atlases merch available on monday? I've been after a tshirt for some time, same with ttng?
1) I'm ill
2) I saw them last night, and
3) The police have cordened off my street at both ends, there's a fire engine parked outside my house and nobody will tell me what's going on apart from "you can't leave the area" and "it'll be in the news soon"
Are you in Oxford?
i would like to come and gawp.
The road is still blocked off, some 5 hours later! Rumour has it a crazy man climbed up on the roof of the house opposite, started throwing bricks around in the street and then jumped off!! And all that time I was sitting here blowing my nose and burning CDs, completely oblivious! It's all action in Oxford
Mine must've been the only one on the house they didn't evacuate! They obviously knew I had important record label business going on
i also appreciate them repressing both EPs onto one CD. it's like an album! that didn't cost much!
the tees don't look as nice and are printed onto gildan t-shirts, unlike mine which is beautiful and on american apparel. yeah! i get to keep the cachet!
This Town Needs Guns have improved immensely since I last saw them (about 18 months ago), Tropics are quickly becoming my new favourite new band and Maps & Atlases just sounded perfect and seemed really pleased with the response from the crowd. And that 2EP deal was indeed a clever move.
