they are mainly all good but there about 5 million of them, and some are pretty hard to get. kc rules ok is amazing, but i didn't think bombshell was as good. he is quality live though. he's the singer out of the aliens' brother you know!
Rocket DIY is worth getting as well and you should be able to find a load of the CD-R ones over on Soulseek et al.
A lot of the songs on his later albums first appeared on one of the CD-Rs such as Not One Bit Ashamed, Marguerita Red, Nooks, Bombshell, Spy Stick etc and it's always interesting to hear how they turn out
I've pretty much exhausted
the hype machine's King Cresote's collection. I would love to know which album to buy to start off with.

I saw him at Green Man
playing with other various members from the fence collective - james yorkston and pictish trail. I was blown away to say the least.
I thought Bombshell was ace
but it did take quite a few listens as it wasn't as immediate as KC Rules OK. And 'Not One Bit Ashamed' is probably my favourite track of his.
He's self released loads of albums and you can find his discography over at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Creosote
