The Pop Group
works at my place.
What's your real name?
really impressed, need to investigate them further
beat me to the punch.
can't stop listening to the radio session from the other week.
they are no longer in Bristol.
I don't really know. Should I know? I feel like I should have a greater familiarity with my local music scene, but at the same time, it doesn't seem like there's much to be familiar with. I've been to the Fleece and the Folk House a few times for local band nights, I've been to uni society gigs and I've seen a few local bands supporting bigger bands, but they've all been a load of shit.
girl munch munch lives next door to us though
I reiterate, Munch Munch.
at least that's what indie soc had me believe. they are really goddamn good anyhow
I thought they'd all finished and gone back to London. MY MISTAKE.
i know i have no collar
my two toms
bristol = eden
there are some good bands in there. Sleeping States, I Know I Have No Collar and Corey Orbison especially.
As for "bristol = eden", you try bloody loving there!
Fuck Buttons (if you can count them still)
Portishead (oh come on, new album is awesome)
If Rachael Dadd is who I think Rachael Dadd is, then I saw her once and it made me quite angry. Whenever I've seen Arctic Circle they're been about two parts shite to one part amazing. I am glad nobody here has mentioned Turbowolf.
are scientifically the best band in the world
and you love OLO Worms as well
i thought he lived in south london?
want smaller bands - will check out those you've mentioned though
to tour with Noah and the Whale alledgedly?
but I'm still going to say Kid Carpet.
they're playing two gigs here over the weekend anyway. Of course that doesn't necessarily mean they're still here.
What a post!
maybe The Heads
"help she can't swim were shit"
"nah, actually they were fucking brilliant"
"well i saw them support blood brothers once and they were awful"
"so they played a bad gig once"
i hereby put it to you that you've seen munch munch liek once or something. cos theyre really incredible, yes?
you know it
<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
Then you may recall EVERYTHING IS SHIT IN THERE. :)
HSCS were fucking brilliant.
they're like Safetyword. Just stupidly clever and arty farty, but they can't actually write songs, it's just endless tempo changes and yelps and pointless meanderings.. They are to music what Jackson Pollock was to art.
To paraphrase Morecambe and Wise, they might be playing all the right notes, but they're not necessarily playing them in the right order.
nothing good about them at all.
safetyword had stupidly catchy songs. munch munch have awesome rhythms and arrangements and poppy vocals. im never talking to you again
but hey, yr gal told me I had a sexy voice. 3some soon, big boi? x
I really had such a great time on friday. I hope we can put our friendship before Munch Munch, Safetyword and my sexy voice.
i'm going for munch munch, endolphines is a cracking tune
It's Bucky, for sure... and maybe Gonga.
Munch Munch are average at best.
still active? anyone know?
but they don't seem to have done anything since then. :(
I'm still going to nominate them.
but also corey o's = <3
are probably the best band on their road in Bristol.
are partly from Bristol.
are the best band in Bristol.
but i really like his albums.
It is he.
Team Brick is the best band in Bristol.
you might like The Jelas.
Anyone up for You Love Her Coz Shes Dead?
I like Turbowolf actually.
Bucky are king tho it's true! Once I tried to book BUcky and they couldn't play (simon was away as usual...) So Joff made me a band especially. amazing! (They were called The Won't Nevers (as in Won't Never play ever again)).
they had a trumpet player and hippy.
I like Countryside too.
I saw Tricky last night - bit boring. slow and loud.
if they are from bristol, but have moved?
