TVOTR coming up
This Kaisers song is shockingly bad
bloody Kaisers and Streets are making my mind each though so far.
I think I read a thread about him today or something...
definitely hate TVOTR, soz.
on DiS... maybe... who cares...
I have a feeling I'm going to end up not liking the album as much after lots of listens like I did with Why? I love it now and I loved Why? at first but now I can't listen to it at all.
i mean they have 2 frontmen that can actually sing (although last nights show wasn't their best performance) without any "indie" intonations. i really hate Why?, the rapper/singer's voice can't survive the test of time.
NICE VOCAL PERFORMANCE DOOFUS
i'm sure it sounds good on wax, but that smelly guy ain't much of a live singer
missed TVOTR. What song did they do?
plus my TV takes about a minute to switch on...
not like i'm not going to concrete and glass though
where's the energy?
perhaps they were annoyed at the sound. which was a bit all over the place
how can you tell how the sound was for them? it was just a very, very limp performance, unless the singer could hear literally none of his vocals that was embarrassing.
That's generally how people judge what the sound was like.
TV really cannot do the mix on live music in the studio any more.
im sure they have sound checks and decent monitoring equipment. the live tv mix is always going to be difficult when changing between bands but there's no reason each band wont have a decent monitor mix.
but it did sound really messey, i cant believe it was much better from where they were standing
but as much as i love tvotr that performance was unforgivably bad.
and i was sitting there all excited thinking how much i couldnt wait for friday night.
i still am of course.
sometime during 2005? All Jools Holland shows went from sounding like a band "playing live" in a tv studio to just sounding like a band playing in a tv studio
hoping they play something off the last record but that's unlikely....
I can never tell on the internet.
don't think she'll ever get big...
despite that nasty lyric.
Kasier Cheifs were boring
TVOTR were disappointing
I agree no idea why I turned off Rinse FM for that pap.
where would we be without our weekly dose of boogie woogie piano?...
i can just imagine those conversations backstage.
"Are you wouldn't like a piano accompanyment Mr Hetfield? No? How about you Mr Manuva?...."
TVOTR were awful :(
Nearly all live music on TV sounds shite.
TVOTR in the flesh are very very good indeed. 'Dreams' still ranks as one of the best things I've ever heard live...
it was the performance. im sure that will be better on friday though
sounding bad on the TV but good on the Radio... ?
Watch their performance of' 'Wolf Like Me' on the Letterman show- it's fucking awesome.
i get shivers just thinking about it
Seasick Steve was great. There is a certain charm about him and his music which I like a lot.
Also thought the streets performance sounded spot on.
wasn't sure about TV on the radio, I blame the beard for the weird sound.
Boy George and Kaiser Cheifs are horrible!!
^5 for the obligatory boogie woogie from Jools.
when he dropped the falsetto he sounded much better.
but the main reason that the new songs are going to disappoint is that...well, they arent as good as the old ones.
that it might have been a bit daunting for them, first time being on British TV and LIVE as well. Hopefully the Friday pre-recorded show will have another performance like Dancing Choose with more energy.
Excellent. I shall check the i-player tonight.
Kaisers - awful
Boy George - awful (saved by backing singers)
TVOTR - disappointing
Seasick Steve - winner
Streets - OK
Little Jackie - OK
It's hard to express my hatred for the Kaiser Chiefs. More insights to come.
Skipping Boy George.
Right, this is the first time I will ever hear Seasick Steve...
I mean, with added hobo-stylings. The lyrics are a bit cringey, a bit oh-look-how-poor-and-nihilistic-I-am. Right who's next.
Good beard. Terrible band name. Average music. And that is the end of badmanreturns' Jools Holland commentary, as I'm completely bored of this programme already.
