The Secondary Modern album is just damn mediocre. It's like he's trying to write songs in a "Darren Hayman style" only without the wit, fragility and emotion that made what he did so great.

I got the first EP (forget what it was called) and it was alright, never got the first solo album then got the second so I don't know whether it was a suddden drop or if his solo stuff's never been as good as Hefner for the most part.

I can't quite contain myself for the Wave Pictures/Hayman do Springsteen record though. Seriously... That said, David's version of Streets of Philadelphia with Andre Herman-Dune was a bit meh.
