It was jolly good fun.
Two indie kid stage-divers set the 2 bouncers off into a frenzy - they tried to stop people stage-diving (by vaguely kinda waving their hands at them when they were mid-dive anyway) and turning their back to the rest of the about-to-start-diving crowd as they did. So they got some more bouncers and they all stood on stage and looked worried. And then they signalled to the soundman to cut the sound. Which the soundman did! That went down really well with the crowd! So what started off as a few friendly baby stage-divers became a crowd baying for bouncer-blood. Black Lips were quite restrained as it goes (just the occasional 'there are lots of you - you can do whatever you want' type comments and a bit of willy-waving and jumping into the crowd themselves).
Black Lips played a song with just their onstage guitar amp stage (which sounded better than the mic'ed sound actually (well down the front...)) and then the sound kicked back in. More and more bouncers kept showing up but still couldn't stop the stage diving with more and more people playing catch me if you can (and they couldn't!) with the bouncers.
The stage ended with the whole of Black Lips stage diving into their own audience. The bouncers didn't know whether to pull them back on stage, drag them off round the back for a friendly bashing or shove them off stage.
It was funny.
King Khan & BBQ were excellent by the way.
