I seem to make coherent sense in places. Wasn't quite sure if I'd managed that or not!
whether you'd rather be the anti-folk Stereophonics or the shit Nick Cave.
is it too late to blame this on Nick?
and will be dealt with at the earliest opportunity
between me, JohnM and Brusma about whether it'd be better to be called an inferior version of a band you loved or a good versation of a and you hated rather than an outright suggestion we sound like the Stereophonics or Nick Cave per se.
hunt down and kill all journalist who make lazy comparisons like this.
Well I tried to say there were elements of the influences in the songs, rather than a blanket they sound a bit like Nick Cave...
wasn't directed at you. Christ, i'm not doing very well in this thread am I?
Wasn't getting at you at all. I really, really like the write-up you've given us there. And I don't think anyone could write what's essentially a 9-minute murder ballad and not expect Nick Cave's name to come up!
It really was just this hypothetical conversation months back that's now confusing everyone!
I get ya, in joke and all that...
By the way part two of this interview is on Friday. Thank you please
The second part is a corker hold onto your hats kids...
ps I seem to have missed out the bit where I ask you why you named yourselves the Awkward silences, but I guess it makes sense anyways...
....put me in mind of a certain school play......circa 1994/95
</needlessly specific reference>
You have done a great job there, can't wait to read the second installment... and for people that want to support Paul's music, 'We Are Not Other People' is available from www.jezusfactory.com and all good record shops and of course the obligitory Itunes.......
Thanks again Bill!
might have to change the picture on that one, coz there's text on the image hehe...
Oh well :0)
I love Sarah Vincent too. I sat motionless in the bath for a good seven minutes with shampoo in my hair intrigued by the lyrics the first time I heard it! So, Paul, I'm blaming you for bad hair days.
