has nu-rave just tunred into... ummm shoe-rave... bare with me.
Last year all the indie dance lot where going in some kind of neon clad nu rave direction and then pretty much everyone got sick of it pretty quick.
This year there seems to be a massive influx of people brining a bit of a shoegaze element into it.
Cut Copy shoegaze synth pop a bit like New Order but not as good.
Friendly Fires seem a bit shoegazy in places although I haven't heard very much from them.
M83 did a dreamy 80s influenced album with a disco pulse. This is my fav of the lot.
Gang Gang Dance sound a bit fuzzy and ambient with a rocky dance kind of vibe. This sounds ace too.
Meromoney kinda fit into this with a more 80s synth kind of vibe. I don't know very much about them.
Crystal Castles sound pretty 80s and shouty at times. They dont gaze at shoes very much though...
Is it all another fad? but slightly less annoying?
Is it worth investigating?
I quite like shoes.
