This will be rather pleasant but what is the Dome like as a venue??? How big? What's the sound like?
The Dome is a fairly big hall for about 500 people, bit like school assembly. High stage, chairs & tables on the sides, good sound, cheap(-ish) drinks.
I"m ridiculously excited. They were amazing at Koko in spite of the sound so tonight should be incredible.
is a bit like a working man's club. not an unpleasant venue, though. tonight should be a hoot.
I've been listening to Microcastle loads this week, it gets better and better with every listen.
stage times/doors/finishing time etc? I noticed there are four support bands...am I likely to miss the last train home?
Really looking forward to this. New venue for me and they were on terrific form at Primavera Sound. Microcastles is a belter of an album.
Would also like to know the stage times if anyone's clued up on that front.
website, it says doors open at 8pm...
4 SUPPORT BANDS? I thought it was only Seabear, Starving Weirdos and Putting on the Ritz? Either way that's 4 bands and it's likely to go on for some time! Marvellous.
I spoke to the Boston Arms yesterday and they said doors would be open at 8pm. Should be a good night.
close - 1am
DEERHUNTER - 10.30pm
SEABEAR - 9.30pm
STARVING WEIRDOS - 8.45pm
doors - 8pm
are playing as well. Music begins from 8:30 PM ...
they're playing a last minute short set to open!
but keep reading they're very unpredictable live?
I'm looking forward to this.
The super excellent Puttin on the Ritz and Starving Weirdos are the 2 bands opening Deerhunter tonight so if you attend that then the first 2 bands are going to blow the last 2 bands out of the water frankly.
deerhunter are rapidly becoming one of my favourite bands, and i cant bloody wait for the microcastle physical release. Im going to a house party tonight (and i do loooove house parties) but if im honest i think id rather be going to this.
excited about this.
very very good!
Anywhere I can get their debut album?
did anyone witness the act after deerhunter? i can't remember their name but i will always remember the sticking of a drum stand up the arse. and the simulated masturbation/drum roll combination.
that said, deerhunter were awesome
definitely rings a bell. thanks
kevin went a bit extreme, was a ton of fun!
Deerhunter - wow!
Starving Weirdos were amazing too!
sadly my friends got me drunk as it was my last day at work, and i could barely walk, let alone get a train to paddingtion and the tube to the venue.
puttin' on the ritz. The singer seemed reluctant to touch the high hat stand after the drummer stuck it up his arse!
Deerhunter were very good.
nothing short of amazingly good. Deerhunter were brilliant and I quite liked Seabear too.
Great great show!! seabear were lovely, Deerhunter were awesome and made me grin a lot!!! The venue was perfect and there really wasn't much of an "audience-band barrier" (metaphorically or physically). Bloody Great!
Anyone go to the Rough Trade East instore on Saturday?
...I went to the instore too, they were still awesome musically, but their performance was a little more muted as Bradford said that he was pretty ill and there were a few sound problems. Still, it was a free Deerhunter show on a Saturday afternoon which couldn't be anymore awesome if it tried.
but they were ok at Rough Trade. And free,
I like it when they wig out a bit and go all krauty. Some of their stuff sounds like U2 or Modest Mouse though. Bit rubbish.
they sounded anything like U2.
