So can you recommend me some albums to buy please??
trout mask replica. only because im listening to it right now and its ace.
Each One Teach One by Oneida.
Grails, cause I'm listening to them now!
Or pre-order the Mogwai and TV on the Radio records!
Trout Mask Replica try as I might. I have all the Mogwai albums too.
boredoms. i got superroot 3 t'other day in bristol. tis very good.
or some dirty three?
throbbing gristle or cabaret voltaire.
Jens Lekman - Night Falls Over Kortedala (for £3)
Wire - Pink Flag/Chairs Missing/154 (£5 each)
Silver Jews album.
Got them all too though!
i see no...Mission of Burma there. their albums got a re-release recently.
Get hold of all the Mission of Burma in the world ever.
but aside from getting Vs a month or two ago, I havn't seen any sign of Signals, Calls and Marches there.
you like smarmy rappification over boombappified soul, right? Course you do
Where is the best strating point?
Grails = win.
but I keep stupidly waiting for the eventual reissue, even though it probably won't be out until sometime in 2009 now.
there was one in Andover and two in Southampton that I used to frequent.
I buy many many fewer albums these days as a result.
So, my question to post-collapse Fopp regulars is......'Is it as good as it was?'
Prices, selection, classic albums for a fiver? Tell me please.
is the best record shop in bristol, mainstream wise. not as good as it used to be, but i still spend too much money there. neither hmv nor zavvi have, say, throbbing grisle albums.
just the same
Will look in the Covent Garden one next weekend.
It's still cheap, but the pricing is a bit more hapazard. The best thing is that all the 80s alternative stuff is really cheap- buttholes, sonic youth etc, even some Melvins and Boredoms.
Don't think the selection is quite as good as it used to be.
And of course, they still have the £1 books to pick up by the counter.
I think the DVDs are the best thing now, cause they are reallllllly cheap.
is for the most part. Maybe not so good for new albums now, but plenty of older stuff to choose from, still lots of stuff for £7/£5/£3 etc. I love it.
Lots of Belle and Sebastian.
That is all.
Nadja - Radiance Of Shadows (80 minutes of incredible shoegaze doom)
Whatever Grails record they might have
Flying Lotus - Los Angeles
High Places - 03/07-09/07
Benoit Pioulard - Precis
GAS - Nah Und Fern
Grouper - Dragging A Dead Deer Up A Hill
......isn't there a Fopp in Birmingham.
It pisses me off.
got it home and the disc wasn't in there :(
Eels - Daisies Of The Galaxy
Can - Future Days
Vessels - White Fields And Open Devices
Ballboy - I Worked On The Ships
The Pastels - Up For A Bit With...
Grails - Burning Off Impurities
Destroyer's Rubies for AGES, so you should buy that.
Also: anything by why?/clouddead/any of the associated stuff
I'm not as much a fan of the record as some folk seem to be on here. Its good, but not "amazing".
Doesn't matter which album, they've got loads, all brilliant.
