any thoughts? we are probably going to do the support for them, am undecided as to whether i like them..
But the actual band, they used to interest me, but the album was soooooo dull & they were at best mediocre live (they arent anything special and dont have the TUNNNNES) so the chance of me liking the live route has pretty much gone for me to, I say they have the potential to do something good, but for now they are just... boring.
that mobile phone song is pretty catchy though.. i think i may have seen them, did they support stars on the last uk tour?
I saw them in a drunken haze at ATP
stop posting in threads about them?
and I would still be interested in hearing new output, hense why I said 'THEY HAVE POTENTIAL' GOD stop being such an arse all the time mr Adam
No u dont, okay, bye
You just want to moan about a perfectly good band because you think they're overrated, and you're arrogant enough to have given yourself the task of spreading the truth.
They are overated but notso much now they got alot of hype when the album came out and I havent heard a single thing since.
They are a good band but they dont quite pull off a better than just good album.
I'm with the duck on thi zapman.
for what its worth.
it's strange, there's just either something missing, some spark. good vampire weekend/wolf parade/vaguely animal collective moves, but overall there's nothing definitively Born Ruffians about it. it's kind of generic second-tier north american indie, looking for something that makes it unique.
they were disappointing at ATP, too. listless. for all that i'll probably go see 'em next month, knowing me.
I was expecting something nice from them as I know Warp records have some amazing taste in abums and artists.
I heard the album and gave it quite a hance and none of it really moved me. I still love the Humming Bird track I think thats brilliant and supr catchy. there was one other really good track on te album I can;t remeber the name of it now though.
Overall I was disapoinetd :(
You getting chance to suport them is pretty cool though considering they have a pretty big profile and maybe the best record company in the UK backing them heheh
They might well bring numbers to the gigs and then you may well blow them out of the water heheh
Ihave no idea what you band is like though. JAG the myspace if ya like.
I have a mini-album by them, I think it's pretty good!
the full album is a bit meh
Ur supporting them
and maybe give Born Ruffians another chance
and vampire weekend have produced the only music that i've found offensive this year. just really fucking awful.
but its a good oppurtunity to play to quite a few people, so do it (Y)
you are very lucky though
you should turn on radio one durring the day or somthing it will hurt your ears big time.
regardless, can't turn your nose up to a new crowd, within reason, we have made some bad choices based on such logic before. all in all though, i'm with the general concensus i think, after a few listens, nothing too amazing, but has all of the elements to make you believe that it sort of should.
sounds like it will be fun :)
