that is all i have to say really.
I love the throwaway style of this and the two Libertines albums enough to enjoy the weaker songs as well (applies more to DiA). To me, the casual, almost offhand structure of songs like La Belle et La Bete and Up the Morning give it genuine charm.
and i agree, especially about La Belle and the likes, even though Up The Morning was never one of my favourites.
this is a really strong set of songs but seriously marred by Mick Jones' shoddy (lack of) production. Could have been a classic.
Also, the demos circulating the net between the band forming and this coming out (Gang of Gin, Hooligans on E, Babyshambles) are staggeringly good.
to the other guy's production (on the second album) by MILES.
It has some amazing tunes on it if they cut some of the shite like pentonville ect then it could have been great.
but will always be a disappointment cause it could have been so much better
it was awful.
even though the demos for the 2nd album were quite good.
