It was so great I could hardly contain myself.
it!! nice and LOUD, although vocals were a bit lost in the mix. could not believe it wasn't sold out. tshirt was a bargain at £10. in a just world this band should be MASSIVE. worth a trip up from brighton, had a great day.
were amazing. i had to leave before WoD to get the tube.

Too bad you had to leave. You missed a massive powerhouse of sound.
out on this. Why do friends have to have birthdays? So inconsiderate. Oh well, I shall be content with their ridiculously good album for now.
The album is NOTHING in comparison to the live show, which has lapses into MBV levels of sonics/noise/melody.
beunos aires beach was immense! the album definitely has crossover commercial appeal and the live show was a step away from that (thankfully).
I thought they were great, Bowerbirds were OK, enjoyed from the back but it was all about War On Drgs, wasn't expecting such a LOUD show, good stuff.
did you find someone to go with you then?
How was Pivot?
They're supporting the Hold Steady at the Roundhouse as well as a bunch of other UK dates. Keep checking their Myspace.
I thought they were a bit disappointing. For a band that's so deft musically and lyrically, to drown everything (especially the vocals) in noise was a bit unnecessary. The noise wasn't even that textured, just a big mess of sound.
I loved Bowerbirds though, do they have an album?
they were selling it at the gig or it's on itunes/general release now.
I only went to see Bowerbirds (and the two previous nights also). Love them.
They have an album (released last year on their own label in America, and re-released this year by Dead Oceans), and an ep, but the ep may be sold out by now. They played few new songs on their tour though, so hopefully that means there'll be a second album in some point in the near future.
at The Windmill.
come to brighton !
