Try and tell me it's not one of the greatest pop songs of all time. Go on
Anyone that does is a filthy communist
if i had to make some sort of 'favourite songs ever' mix tape it'd probably be on that too.
have you heard the Jam cover?it's pretty good
But I'm not sure if I'd want to! I hate almost anything associated with Paul Weller
that's why i was surprised it was actually good. i think he's into that sort of stuff so wouldn't want to make it sound shit.
Del Shannon - Runaway
but yeah, runaway and heatwave <3
I was listening to the American Graffiti soundtrack a couple of days ago some fantastic tracks on there
WAILING ORGAN SOLO'S FTW
i haven't heard it in forever but thanks to my mom playing it constantly when i was growing up, i remember all the words. :)
i love 60's pop!
my mum used to have a mix tape that ended on one side with the Vandellas version and started on the other side with the Jam one.
I bloody loved that tape. Good times
and while its a great record there are much better Motown songs. What Becomes Of The Broken Hearted, Walk Away Renee and Nathan Jones to name but three.
You're right about Paul Weller though, post-Jam at least.
me of John Travolta in Carrie.
The Who version. quality
I first heard it on the deluxe edition of My Generation and loved it. I admit the original is a guilty pleasure when it's on in the ABC and i'm dancin' about like an idiot.
Agreed. I like this version here: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=q-PNmGMTD-s
and Joan Osborne of all people on the Standing In The Shadows Of Motown dvd is incredible.
As is their version of What Becomes Of The Brokenhearted - helped me to forget all about Robson & Jerome
...because whenever I see this song mentioned I automatically hear the Duck Tales theme tune, but the Duck Tales shout is replaced with "Heat Wave!"
Especially annoying seeing as I don't like the cartoon, but I do like the song.
