I can't stop listening to it.
Is the rest of the album as good?
.... I mean I don't know but that song is alomost bearable, the rest makes my head hurt. But that is just from my listens on myspace, they get alot of love from people on here.
the myspace has their older stuff which is a lot blander. the album's miles past those tracks in terms of melody. i agree their early singles were really dodgy plodding MOR except with falsetto. album is great.
but you will have to find me a new band to hate on the DiS boards if I end up liking it hehehe
better than anything else on the album. 2 birds with one stone..
has probably been my most played of the year, except for maybe Why? - it's amazing
listened to it about five minutes ago. the whole album is phenomenal. his voice sounds like guy garvey doing freddie mercury
and now very amazing live band too. 100 Club and Field Day were incredibly tight performances.
There is a lot of love for the record on here and so there should be.
mercury doing justin hawkins doing a drowning cat.
...but more importantly wrong
is of a similar high standard, although not of the same ilk. Club of fathomless love being a standout
COCK AND BALLS
but it does pale in comparison to that one song, I have to say. And yes they were really, really tight live. The guitars sound soooo good
There's liiiiiife innnn theeeee old dooooooogg yyyyeeeet!
Woebegone Wanderers and His Grinning Skull are beautiful. Brave Bulging Buoyant Clairvoyants is a brilliant pop song. But its not an instant album. Most people I know its taken 5 0r 6 listens to really break it. Its not as pop as the singles suggested it might be and its quite slow. Also, if you don't like the high pitched voice on Devils Crayon then don't even think about it. The deeper voice on it is just the secondary singer.
definitely worth getting. i swear if this was a us band they'd be more popular. pitchfork would've raved about them and then the hype would've been transferred over here. club of fathomless love is my favourite at the moment.
I still dont like them though heheh.
They would be huge if they were from the US, but the have got pretty much massive love on here anyway, so it aint all bad.
Cheerio Chaps, cheerio goodbye is brilliant. I wonder whether Pitchfork will review them though.
they seemed to like the idea of them
Think they're on just after Yeasayer (on a different stage)- that's going to be one hell of an hour or so.
How come WB can't even sell out the 100 Club and yet Vamoire Weekend are now on a THIRD night at the Forum?
(I realise I'm setting myself up with this one...)
That explains it.
they were pretty bad. i think the maihn problem was the sound to be honest, they were on the main stage which was pretty quiet and you couldn't really hear the instruments, or his voice. generally it was a mediocre experience.
having said that i think that track is ace.
