and know he wants me to make him a cd with descendents and other punk stuff on it. I rule at being an older brother!!!
Mine enjoys the musical stylings of The Feeling.
did you try to make him like other stuff?
to stuff, but he just wasn't really very interested in music.
Fair enough really. He loves rugby and football and I've never been very interested in that!
its pretty good, but just made me want to buy all the bands albums
gonna get the dischord thing which has four eps on one LP with teen idles, SOA, Government issue and ive forgotten who else on it next
you teamed together to name 3 hardcore bands. im proud of you today.
stuff like that.. which i also like, but i thought he should expand his horizons, and itd be cool to be able to talk to him about punk and hardcore music a bit more
my brother is most certainly not cool. we...don't share the same tastes.
with a big stick will always show the little buggers the way forward when it comes to music taste.
and he said The Wipers sound really good.
have you heard that record thats that dude outta wipers playing guitar for some pro-wrestler
The boxset plopped through my letterbox this morning. Ever since Jamie Summers burnt me a cd, I've wanted that boxset. And now I have it. Ace.
Youth of America is lightyears ahead of it's time. One of the great forgotten records.
someone was talking to me about it though its meant to be real good idk, is the boxset just the 3 albums or whatever where did you get it
amazon marketplace. Just under a tenner with postage. Supposedly 'used' but it's pristine condition.
i may look into it i found somewhere to buy irl copies of NZ bands reasonably priced music recently though so it may have to wait idk
one of my brothers (16) listens to Children of Bodom and MCR, my step brother (17) listens to trance, one brother (11) listens to Crazy Frog and Soulja Boi. I feel like a failure as an older brother. However there's still hope for my one year old brother though!
its just a gradual process. give him some melodic hardcore stuff that he might like as he likes mcr, and from there reel him into the side of goodness
he's a lost cause
to paramore, and the last cd he bought was fightstar. he's definetly a lost cause
get him a new found glory cd
then set your goals
That would be cooler
I think in the last year they've become my favourite band ever, replacing the Stooges. I like this quote cos I feel the same. "I remember listening to Ornette Coleman, John Cale, Sun Ra and Albert Ayler. That's what the eels was supposed to be, but we didn't really understand it."
Also this is the best website
between the Stooges and Ramones.
And Repeater. Two separate ends of their career. And both enthralling. The Argument is beautiful.
I think they're a cut above the other stuff. Mission of Burma rule that era though. Even if The Argument is incredible.
cos you're pretty much guaranteed to find something you like
Slayer, Mastodon and Justin Timberlake together. I think i, too, rule :)
