I'm off out to the shops later. Give me some recommendations. what are they like and why should i buy them?
(eclectic, fun and the king of catchy choruses)
Cadence Weapon - Breaking Kayfabe (electronic-type hip-hop with witty lyricism and smoothly delivered)
Why? - Alopecia (because it's the best release of 2008 so far)
dexterous math-type hardcore
just been re-released: it's Dan The Automator, Del Tha Funky Homosapien and Kid Koala's collaborative side project - AMAZING stuff
experimental Montreal indie pop. Is good.
Peter Broderick: Float
Really nice modern classical-ish stuff. Is also good.
Deaf Center: Pale Ravine
Cinematic classical-tinged post-rock without the wankery. Is also good.
I'd recommend everything on Type Records, really. I can't help listening to their stuff lately. Worth keeping an eye out for.
the rose has teeth in the mouth.......
my favourite album of the year by miles!
looped guitars and chuggy bits.
Riot sounds produce riots.
And order The Wipers Boxset off amazon marketplace. Just over £10 with postage. And 2 absolutely storming albums, plus one pretty good one.
Youth of America is seriously one of my favourite ever songs.
Just give him a listen, then you'll know why to buy it !
turns out i'd wildly overestimated the record buying potential of High Wycombe, so all I came back with was Superfuzz Bigmuff DE - Mudhoney.
I just started up a new etunes account though, so i will be sure to investigate some of the above soon
Get yrself some compilations. I just got On The Bone volume two. It's well good. The first was okay but this one's up there with the old Dance To The Radio comps.
Old as in, two years ago like.
I thought the last DTTR compilation was probably the best one.
The bonus disc is really quite great.
