IS SO SHIT. that weird noise that is consistently going off during the track is horrible.
You'd expect their comeback single to be a big anthem, something of an event, but lord only knows what they were thinking with this. I suspect Ashcroft thinks it sounds like chuffing MBV or something.
in the studio is beyond me.
"oh mate, listen to this AMAZING sample i have"
"yeah, thats great. Lets put it on the whole track, EVEN the chorus."
I want to puke.
And a monkey howling.
I like the Tellytubbies
I quite like it :/
They were never that good I guess.
it was the icing on the "i'm actively going to hunt down richard ashcroft" cheesecake i was thinking of while watching them at Werchter.
dross. also, anyone else notice how they never learned how to end songs live?
If it's that noise then i'd rather everyone hated me!
its amazing, innovative, heroic, vital, sounds better than 99 percent of the crap out there. You are all IDIOTS.
in case you missed that folks.
the sound without losing the anthemic quality they always had.
HEROIC HEROIC HEROIC
But I don't get the hate.
its just a really standard attempt at indie disco. the Woo-oos are just rubbish... the chorus is dull.
The band that made "A storm in Heaven" and "Northern Soul"? At Glastnos they opened with "This is music" and I was spinning round like a wild banshee, the couple behind me had concluded that this must be a new song of theirs.
So much for the "It's just like when we first started" boasts. 'Gravity Grave' or 'Slide Away' this most definitely isn't.
"it's excellent" camp - I love the discordant sample, it's hypnotic, anthemic and quite original. I so don't understand why the track seems to spark such ire?
listen to the outro.
Last ten seconds or so.
Listen to the echoes of the 'ah-ow ah-ow' etc.
they used to be SO good
what was the point of re-forming to be so shite..?
