Woooah! Srsly. Love it!
But your favourite? Really?
as I took it away travelling with me and fell deeply in love with it, among a few others. Even Say Goodbye Good, if I'm in the right mood...
They sound pretty much the same as Promise Ring Wood/Water era.
As for Maritime, I think 'We, The Vehicles' is one of my favourite albums in recent years.
not for lack of trying; just never made any impact on me, though I nevertheless eagerly anticipate anything they do...
Next two, not so...
I'm not sure how to describe it, but whenever I listen to them I'm always surprised at by how catchy and upbeat the songs are. Even though I've listened to them loads, and know exactly what to expect, whenever I put them on to listen to I do it with the mindset of listening to something melodic, yet down tempo. When actually it's much more upbeat. Wow, that's really badly phrased, and doesn't actually make much sense. But, yeah.
And it just always puts a smile on my face listening to them. Nothing but positives for Maritime from me.
nothing feels good for me as well.
although Very Emergency is pretty underrated too.
I love Cap'n Jazz so should I try these out?
Cap'n Jazz but 'Very Emergency' is the best PR album. Get 'Wood/Water' if you like James Blunt.
i assume you know davey started the promise ring as a side project when he was in cap'n jazz.
they're fairly similar sounding but the promise ring are a lot more straight ahead and poppy.
By some way.
Can't get on with his yelping.
But listen to early Promise Ring - 30 degrees, Nothing Feels Good... The later records are just super polished college rock and bare no resemblence to Cap'n Jazz. (Not that they really do anyway)
the line about birmingham in a picture postcard slays me........
I share my birthday (Aug 11th) with Davey. Also, Joe Jackson and Hulk Hogan.
I share mine with the DJ from Linkin Park.
