Am I right in saying, that a 45 rpm record cannot be played on your standard record player?
It's fairly modern, as in bought in the last 5 years.
Modern record players play 33 and 45 rpm. If you need to play 78s you'll need to get an old player but for 45s you'll be fine.
Have at least two settings: 33rpm and 45rpm. If it's not a push-button change, you may need to lift the platter up and manually change the speed by moving the belt drive onto a different setting.
Someone more technical will be along in a minute.
of modern turntables don't have an automatic function to switch between 33 and 45 and require you to change the belt.
i need to change the belt on my rega. i can never be arsed though - do i don't really listen to any 45 any moar =[
since most new bands only have one good 7 inch single in them.
And b-sides still rule.
