How good is this band? Very. Will you listen? Probably not :(
I've heard two tracks whose names I cannot remember. They were good, but they didn't grab me by the short and curlies.
After all these years I only just got that. Unless that is wrong.
Are there any songs/albums I need to obtain? They did intrigue me.
You Are Freaking Me Out and Clumsy. I think those are the major label efforts and I love them.
They sound very good.
he is brilliant.
But not sorry.
these lot are pretty good.
Great band, must have seen them about 10 times over the years the last of which was in Leeds September 2006 just after the most recent (and first post-comeback) album came out.
It's all great, but Astray and You Are Freaking Me Out are the two essential albums.
They were part of the whole Gilman Street scene way back in the early 90s, weird to think, but Green Day, The Offspring, Rancid and No Doubt all opened for them. They never took off in the same way though in spite of the fact that they're infinitely better than any of those other bands.
They were one of those unfortunate bands from the Bay Area who got signed by a major (in their case Atlantic) in the wake of the whole 1993/1994 pop punk explosion when A&R scouts were running around Cali signing anyone who could string a few powerchords together.
Sadly, they got chewed up and spat out much like their friends in Jawbreaker.
They were really popular in Germany though, their European tours used to have about 15 German dates!
we're clearly of a similar vintage!
I still hold out hope for a reunion!
The documentary/tour retrospective is being made at the moment apparently.
What should I go for next?
Unfun and Bivouac have their moments, but aren't essential.
Then there's a rarities comp which I think is called 'etc'.
Oh, there's a very good live album too, but DY/24HRT are the best.
bands growing up. All of their albums are worth picking up. You Are Freaking Me Out and Clumsy are fantastic, also the first three albums on New Red Archives.
Used my drumkit!!11!!1
