Madness. Someone defending a friend got stabbed 11 times at T in the Park.
"A man stabbed eleven times at the T in the Park music festival is said to be making "good progress" in hospital."
"In T in the Park's 15-year history this is the first time we have had a death on-site and we are shocked and saddened to hear the news. Our thoughts are with the family at this time."
still fucking awful even if he is still alive and well. Being stabbed three times in the head is going to leave some devastating damage.
The one who got stabbed is making "good progress".
The other guy died after becoming ill.
clearly i didn't read it properly
Another reason to never attend a festival ever again.
the people who stabbed him don't live at the festival site.
So not really.
I suppose the crime rate IS rather higher in Scotland, so perhaps at T you have a point.
Three in the morning on a Saturday night, the garage has just got out, the streaks of urine and pizza box hurdle dash as you run screaming through yobbo hell.
Only in a field, multiplied by a million, for days on end and with Stereophonics (or whatever mindless music they have at these events) booming through the sky for miles.
Sign me up! Yum!
I hope you were ad-libbing; it will further substantiate the predictability and blandness of it all
like, 10 years ago or something :(
Gone out on the high of Raymond's Shop!
there's no Diableros
Its one of the last things you'd expect to happen at a festival.
I remember at Reading 97, it got a little rowdy on the Sunday night. Nothing untoward mind you but nothing out of hand. All very exciting to a 17 year old festival virgin.
Then a few years later there were riots on the Sunday night at Reading and Leeds.
That followed by news of at least one rape in 2001/02.
Seems to me that things generally have been going downhill over time.
I'm amazed there aren't people being killed at these things all the time.
There is a very small minority who attend festivals to look for trouble.
Heard about the stabbing from one of the Security Guards, terrible, such a shame.
On a high note, Holy F**k, Rage, Band of Horses, National, Battles, JoFo, Los Campesinos and Jaguar Love were all insanely good, I had a brilliant weekend! I think Holy F**k in the relentless tent might be the best gig i've ever been to infact, superb.
But T in the Park has been waiting for something like this to happen for years now... the number of people who treat it as a gathering and then an excuse for fighting with other people from around Scotland is unreal..
Last time I was there i was threatened my tent was smashed up...
I know one guy that has been 8 times 6 of these he has not seen one band.. just sits in the campsite getting wasted and fighting
all that shit about it be well behaved blah blah makes me sick.. little more than a neds holiday..
Which totally ruins it for the people that wanna go see bands and enjoy there weekend..
If people want to go sit in a field and get wasted/Thieve/Fight with each other why do they feel they need to pay £150 to do so at a music festival when believe it or not some people would actually quite like a ticket to go see some bands.
this was my first T in the P and all weekend I was thinking "wierd how well behaved everyone's being"
I went to T In The Park a few years ago and really didn't feel very safe there, especially as I'm English.
There just seemed to a really dangerous vibe in the air, and there are a lot of people that go purely becuase it's in Scotland and something to do.
