So I'm not elite or indie enough to have access to a different tracker yet. Thus, It's been 9 months since I've had access to any music I want, whenever I want it.
I have to say that I miss it more than I thought. I felt that I'd be able to pick up bands from the radio, friends, DiS and so on just as easily, and my music listening wouldn't suffer.
However, I mourn the loss of the total purity of my music taste when OiNK was about. I would hear a band mentioned, and 3 minutes later I'd be listening to their EP, LP, whatever, and forming my own opinions without any sort of influence. Perhaps the closest one can get to this now is with last.fm. But it's still rubbish. Rubbish!
The range of music I'm exposed to has also suffered. There is no way I'd be into bands like Parts and Labor and No Age without, simply because I don't have the time, money or inclination to buy countless albums on the off-chance that I'll like them.
So, do you miss OiNK? I do, sorely.
