Capdown Appreciation Thread.
I miss them. :( They were the first band I became completely obsessed with and were terrific live.
Anyone else a fan? I never really got into that new album they released, but Civil Disobedients and Pound for the Sound were quality.
Oh yeah, video(s):

Also, please no anti-ska comments, it's well boring.

Loved them when I was younger
Saw them plenty of times, always a good energy to the show. Never got the third album, my music taste had shifted by the time that was released.
OH HAI
i miss them :(
even though i went to their last london gig a few weeks back, having not seen them for 5 years or so - its sad knowing that they aren't out there somewhere still going at it for da kidz
HAI!
How was the last london gig? I completely forgot about it and by the time I'd been reminded it was too late. :'(
was really good thanks
brought back memories of more innocent days...
ace.
Did they play many old classics? Last time I saw them was the Water Rats gig in March 2 years ago and they only played 4 old ones (no ska wars, which was criminal.)
yeah most of the classics
no kained but able, but i was happy apart from that :)
ska wars!
yay etc.
never got to see them
was going to buy tickets for their last evaarr gig! but i ran out of money :(
UWOT
I was at their last London gig too, it was fun. I had never heard any of their songs apart from Ska Wars prior to the gig. My housemate caught the drummer's drumstick and he was well chuffed about that.
don't rub it in
i listened to that band for years :(
was it you listening to them on last.fm?
i was gonna give a shout.
fucking memories!
indeed it was!
I have misplaced my copy of Civil Disobedients (i.e. left it in the hands of a friend who loses my cds) and I so wanted to hear Unite to Progress again.
Saw them at Exeter Cavern a while back now
..good band says I
Ooh yeh!
Saw them live some stupid amount of times due to them always playing Brighton.
Amazing live band and first two albums are classics. Newer stuff was pretty rubbish though i have to say.
I saw them a whole heap of times between 1998 and 2004
I never actually went to one of their shows, it's just that they were the support for so many bands, they must have toured pretty much constantly.
They were also at every all dayer/Deconstruction/Concrete Jungle/Warped Tour date ever....BY LAW.
A real shame the way they went.
Had an absoloutley unprecedented following for a UK independent punk band, but that 20 year gap between album 2 and 3 proved fatal. What was it, the singer got some girl pregnant?
Anyway, album 3 - HUGE dissapointment after all that time. A couple of the songs were up there with their very best, but lyrically they'd trodden so much water that it was pointless.
Always a shit load of fun live, and I really wish they'd kept working post album 2. An LP filled with the 'New Revolutionaries'-type stuff they were doing pre-hiatus, when they were still hungry, would have been ace fun.
if the third album
had come out sooner i don't think it would've been seen as such a big let down - it was just after waiting forever for an album that was merely 'quite good' after two really good ones.
Definitely one of the better bands my teenage child of the K! self was into.
Always great fun and piles of energy live.
