doubt green river would have featured to be honest

Let's all relive the horror:
Amazingly in spite of this, I still love Levis.
no no no no no
Start Choppin' is pretty grunge I guess.
But plaid shirts and lots of hair do not a grunge artist make
Plus 'Grunge' was highly localised, Dino couldn't have been further away from it not to mention the fact that they'd been playing for a good 8 years before the term became common currency.
I don't really like the term 'grunge'.
It's far too meaningless. Afghan Whigs and Screaming Trees were grunge, were they? Just in the same way that Pearl Jam and Mudhoney both were?
I never once heard The Afghan Whigs referred to as a grunge band at the time.
There seems to have been a bit of revisionism in the years since by people who can't have been paying any attention whilst it was all happening.
I <3 The Afghan Whigs so much, but they were clearly far more influenced by blues and soul than anything.
Sure, they were signed to Sub Pop and popular amongst the same sort of people, but other than that I don't know why they seem to have acquired the tag.
was very garage rocky though
at some point
and a Hole song
Puddle of Mudd and Silverchair instead
A lot of people out there think that Dirty was their only album.
was soooo grunge and sooo good. the song was kind of grunge
back from his pro-skateboarder day.
Stereo Skateboards <3
that bands from seattle with little in common musically were lumped into teh grunge tag.
but how did sunny day real estate escape this?
