I've only got Hearts and Bones and Graceland but I love both albums. Any other fans here?
it's called 'live rhymin' and it's pretty soon after him and garfunkel parted ways. so lots of good early songs with guest musicians. some south american band and some soul band share the duties on each side.
it's fucking good. worth tracking down.
get Rhythm of the Saints, There Goes Rhymin Simon and the compilation 'Shining Like a National Guitar' also! Instant life improvement. Rythm... is better than Graceland IMHO. A grower, but the album by him i still play most these days.
Also the soundtrack album of the film of the free simon and garfunkel concert in central park rocks (albeit very gently):
to my parents "graceland" is one of the albums of my childhood, the days before i was getting my own music. I still love it but have never really listened to any of his other solo stuff.
Hell of a talent though.
from what I understand he was the cunt who paid fuck all for all the musicians and stole loads of songs - though they seem to hold no grudges - so neither will I. A wonderful album (equal childhood favorite with Don Maclean)
...is a really great album too.
P.S. Paul Simon on the 'Graceland' tour was the first gig I ever went to.
Mad love to my parents for that one.
is produced by Brian Eno...its called surprise i believe, and i firmly believe the song 'Another Galaxy' is one of his very VERY best of his career. Have a listen to that....
