are you going on saturday?
it should be the most fun ever.
earplugs? I'm going on Friday. I assume they might be quite loud.
sunday in manchester! fuck earplugs!
i pity. 100% seriously, get some earplugs everyone.
nothing above APTBS level please :(
I'm not starting for a band I've been wanting to see for about 10 years!
I'd swap it for radiohead ticket. Or just buy it. That'd be sweet.
buy my ticket for sunday please?????
and i'm going on the 22nd and seeing them at Bestival. Aaaaaaaand i might get to meet the band seeing as the guy im going with knows Kevin and Colm from way back. Normally i wouldn't get this excited about seeing/meeting a band, but it's My Bloody Valentine fer chrisake!
who lost hearing in one ear after seeing MBV. Anyone claiming they're not going to bring earplugs has a fucking death wish.
listening to a band whilst wearing earplugs reduces the sound quality massively.
proper earplugs designed for listening to loud music
I don't actually wear them that often - I didn't need them at all for the Explosions ATP, but I have a feeling that with the ICA being so small, and MBV being so loud, I am going to be wearing them. They don't reduce the sound quality: in fact, they increase it. It's a lot easier to hear lyrics with them in, for example (although MBV is likely to be an exception to this). It's also easier to hear people talking to you as well, for some bizarre reason.
whistling. i hate people whistling.
can i buy them from, liek, hmv?
and no, you'd have to order them online.
there are lots on ebay etc
but I'm seeing them in Manchester anyway so it's not all bad. Can't fucking wait.
and think they're great. But I'm sort of intrigued as to how loud My Bloody Valentine will be. Afterall, it's only the Roundhouse - it never seems particularly loud in there. Also, I get the impression MBV's loudness has been mythologised somewhat - surely in a big venue, they're not going to be as loud as Merzbow or someone like that in somewhere smaller.
Either way, earplugs are the way to go.
we are talking about the ICA?
i cant imagine the arena shows being ultra-loud
im going to ICA on Saturday!
Will be taking my earplug just as a precauction!
