Surfer Rosa for me.
for me, although Doolittle is a close second
Doolittle very close second.
the surfer rosa (although surfer rosa turned me on to the pixies in the first place)
I mean I probably wouldn't want to be stuck in a lift with him, but he's a genius with the microphones no?
or Trompe Le Monde
doolittle is also 10/10 though
as it reminds me of taking my excellent dog for walks in the fine woods & fields of west dorset with my walkman.
That's just me then. Ok.
Every morning and every day
I BOSSANOVA WITCH YA
whenever I spied a girl I fancied.
just for 'caribou'.
is the first track on Come Pilgrim. It ain't on Surfer.
My answer to this changes all the time. I'll go for Trompe by a nose, from Doolittle, Surfer and Pilgrim. Bossanova a close last.
Live At Brixton Academy 06.05.04. Cos I was there.
just last week. This, after hearing them years ago and deciding i didn't really care for them.
Anyway, i'm going to say Surfer Rosa because it's the only Pixies album i own.
And I find it hard to believe that the Pixies could make a better album.
Black, Santiago and Lovering are pretty dowdy looking. Plus that magician shit Lovering does is lame. But yeah. Surfer Rosa is great but I'm sure you'll also like Doolittle.
Absolute bass queen. Voice like sugar. I just want a girl that's cool as Kim Deal.
2. Come On Pilgrim
3. Tromple Le Monde
5. Surfer Rosa
Whenever I put any other Pixies album on she says 'it's not REAL pixies Daddy - I want REAL pixies'. She quite likes the Breeders but she doesn't understand why 'Frank doesn't sing with her too'.
I'm going to guess at 7?
She also loves The White Stripes (Not a favourite of mine I might add), The Yeah Yeah Yeahs and some Low albums.
She's already far cooler than me :S
Anyone else got the live disc that came with early copies of Death To The Pixies? MEGA.
In a beautiful deluxe set I got second hand off amazon marketplace a few years ago. I wub it.
they're all amazing. my favourite band ever.
For Ana, for Cecila Ann, for most of it really. It barely nudges past Trompe Le Monde, though.
