I'm literally lost for words at your ignorance.
WHERES THE GUITARS?! I COULD DO THAT, ITS JUST A LOAD OF BEEPING
AND ITS FUKIN BORING ASWELL, LIKE WHERES THE CHORUS?/? WHERES THE SINGING?!??! FUCKING BULLSHIT, ANYONE WHO LIEKS IT IS A PONCE
DANCIN IS FOR LAMOS
ALL OF EM
i like royksopp a lot.
what dance music is worth listening to would you say?
i like stuff like cut copy and hot chip, which while not dance music as such is definitely opening my ears to be less biased against things without guitars.
DJ Hixxy, Adam F, Boys Noize, Alice Deejay, Rebel MC, Chicane, DJ Hooligan, Roni Size, Aphex Twin, Goldie, Justice, Mr.Scruff, Mr.Oizo, Polygon Window, Sasha and Underworld.
Chicane and Alice Deejay are cheesy vocal trance. Didn't electroclash and electro house come and sweep that all away?
But Alice Deejay still released one brilliant song...and Chicane have a couple under the belt.
does everyone but the Dutch.
reckons the Germans make the best electro.
like electronic music, not techno......
or however it goes
'what genre do you hate' thread. For so called music fans to completely write off such a huge spectrum of music is completely absurd. Having had time to reflect I can only assume that most of the offenders are about 16 and think it's cool to hate anything without guitars.
your assumption is so true about my cousin.. he's 16 and hates non-guitar music.. he's a doofus though..
"which genre do you hate"
it's "which genre do you dislike the most"
some people genuinely don't appreciate a lot of dance music, other people genuinely don't like a lot of rap. Fair enough, i think. Dismissing an entire genre is silly, but saying you don't like the majority of bands within a genre is different.
i did word it for that reason. i'm glad someone picked up on my semantics :)
i chose baggy, but i can still listen to There's No Other Way, Step On and I Am The Resurrection while enjoying it.
is so naff but I understand this statement completely. There's a place for most things, apart from The Kooks and The Fratellis.
hate/dislike isn't really the point here is it? Dismissing an entire genre is silly enough, but 'dance music' isn't a genre. It's a massive collection of genres that often differ entirely in their structure/tempo/motifs. How you can write off such differing sounds as breakcore, dubstep and minimal techno with one sweeping statement is beyond me. And I'm sure there will be people who say they hate all those genres but they'll just have missed the point, once again.
on people who said 'dance music'?
a genre is quite a difficult thing to define, i guess, i would have said that most of the people who said dance music were using that term to describe the type of music you get on ministry of sound compilations. I'm not one of them here, you understand, but i don't think it's too reprehensible to generalise a bit with genre naming.
If someone says they don't like dubstep then fine. Same with drum n bass, or electro or whatever. Although the music released within these genres can still differ massively they at least all share some sort of common ground. It was the people making huge sweeping statements I was referring to.
i kind of agree with you. But i wouldn't get too annoyed about massive generalisations on here, it tends to happen quite a lot.
that i did enjoy and i didn't hate
so there :P
you clearly haven't listened to enough and are therefore in no position to offer your opinion.

you could be literally lost for words and then start a thread on it.
I said I was lost for words at the ignorance of such people. I didn't say I had nothing to say about why it's ignorant.
no, you said you were 'literally' lost for words. which, if i was a pedant, i would say was a paradoxical phrase.
But anyway, pedantry isn't what this thread is about (even though it's fun)
And celebrated the iron.
I can't help feeling I was doing something wrong somewhere.
Then I'd sing about it afterwards. How fucking post-modern am I?
