Im about to leave to see Merbow Vs Jim O'Rourke Supporting Jackie-O Motherfucker and Im so excited Im bouncing around like a kid on Christmas Eve and realised I havent been this excited about a gig in ages, but also slightly worried that it may be a massive let down as Ive hyped it so much

WHERE IS THIS?!
And why are Merzbow and Jim O'Rourke supporting Jackie-O Motherfucker? It should be the other way round, Jackie-O bored me live.
I'm REALLY excited about Nightmare Before Christmas, I have been praying for Mike Patton to curate one year. The very thought of Fantomas playing the entirety of Directors Cut is making me very wet.
Pissed Jeans
a couple of weeks back and Fucked Up a few months ago, both at the OBL and both in the all-time top list. Oh, and Howlin' Rain at ATP. Synapse-busting glee at all occasions.
It Is In
Tokyo
I was really amped up
for DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist at the Roundhouse a couple of months back, but it was a bit disappointing. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't terrible and I could think of worse ways to spend an evening, but it didn't live up to my expectations.
I'm almost giddy about seeing MBV in Manchester in a few weeks though.
yea im giddy
for mbv in manchester too! and radiohead the day after, im not giddy for radiohead tho as ive seen them 5 times already over the years
fjfdsj
jonathan richman
dodos
last thursday.
and no, it was fucking amazing.
I'm seeing My Morning Jacket in July
and I am CRAZY excited. I can't even imagine how it could be a let-down...unless it's cancelled.
or
they plus mostly evil urges stuff
i don't get excited by gigs any more
DOWN I GO TONIGHT OMG.
damn you!
i'm going to see huh hum, (cute is what we aim for) :S :'(
My Chemical Romance at Wembley Arena.
How could that be a letdown?
I bet Radiohead don't utilise a ticker-tape cannon and 20ft flames in such inventive ways during their live show.
i'm still trying to scrape pennies together
for this. bah. i'm so not gonna make it :(
they were lolsome last week :(
YOU CAN DO IT.
So what if you need to pay rent/buy food etc. It's Down I Go!!!!
haha
i've just counted my pennies, i have 4 quid.
:( but i'm paying in 320 quid into the bank in a bit... i wonder if they'll be nice enough to let me take it out now. haha no
4 quid is all you need to get in!
I'm guessing cash for a train to london is needed as well though. :(
JoFo & The Mae Shi
then Nasty Fest IX with The Mae Shi, No Age, Cadence Weapon... etc.
They both tued out excelent and more than I could have ever hopped for.
The Mars Volta. It also got me REALLY disappointed.
EX MODELS IN BRIGHTON!
Blew my mind! I love that band but with the addition of Kid Millions live they totally destroyed me. Walked home with my girlfriend along the beach drinking booze from plastic cups afterwards, both buzzing on what an incredible show it was. Total Love My Life situation. I'm such an Ex Models fan boy.
Me too
They were utterly outrageously good :)
The new stuff goes on forever and blew my mind! haha
they were great in oxford
shame nobody bothered to come and see them
Mogwai and No Age respectively
I'm super excited by the prospect of Gutter Twins and Mudhoney.
recently announced gigs that have made me excited:
Pissed Jeans when it was announced a while back
Stapletons comeback shows that were announced the other week
Built to Spill at brudenell!
Counting Crows in Hyde PArk...
...they won't let me down!
Broken Social Scene
Leadmill, Sheffield about two weeks ago. It totally delivered.
ENVY at atp
I was running around going "eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee"
for about two days before
and they didn't let me down either :D
:)
it was a mindblowing set
Will everyone PLEASE
stop banging on about how wonderful Envy were. I was too knackered after Battles and went to bed :-( And given that the two other Japanese bands (World's End Girlfriend and Mono) were both phenomenal, I really should have been able to work out for myself that Envy was unmissable.
Please, someone tell me Envy were crap. It'll make my day.

Hmmm I feel like that
about Why? this Wednesday evening. It worries me to be so excited.
Mind you, the last time I felt like a small child on Christmas eve was for Joanna Newsom at RAH and it lived up to all my expectations and more...
Bruce Springsteen on Saturday...
AMAAAAAAAAAAAAZING.
I've been to some really good gigs recently, but
I can't remember getting that hyped up since the Don't Look Back Daydream Nation.
My friend and I had been given this really expensive bottle of champagne by her parents and had a punnet of stawberries which we consumed most of in someone's back garden, before hanging around outside the Roundhouse being all excitable and loud. And we managed to get right to the front, so my friend managed to throw a wreath of roses she had made for Kim onto the stage. She never got it but Lee balanced it on the end of his guitar for a bit. We saw a really cute couple running away with it as a souvenir, faces beaming, after the show.
It was just a perfect day of excess in general and at 6am we found ourselves in a recording studio drinking green tea. Hence no gig has been able to compete since then.
Silver Apples @ atp
my musical hero stood before me on stage. i never thought i'd see him live and there he was!
the time before that was Devo.. (i cried)
There were a few in the last year or so that I'd been waiting forever to see
Deerhoof, Mono and Stars of the Lid were the pick. Deerhoof was great, but not as unpredictable or raucus as I'd hoped. Mono and SotL were better than hoped for.
Now I'm all excited about Melt Banana.
Kayo Dot + Gregor Samsa
It was ace !
I'm rather looking forward
to Mindless Self Indulgence at the Roundhouse.
Heartbreak
www.myspace.com/heartbreak1
I behaved like a 13 year and for someone who very rarely loses their cool in that context, it's amusing to look back upon.
They are possibly the best act I've seen live in a long long long time.
Mae Shi / Jo Fo in Cambs
Been a bit quiet gig wise recently.
Probably Acoustic Ladyland on Saturday
That got me really hyper
Meat Puppets
and it was better than I had hoped. Great.
Bjork in Hammersmith
Was very excited in the build-up and it turned out even better than expected. Although the next few gigs after that have been a bit of a come-down. Hopefully Radiohead in a few weeks will be able to match it.
