i have yield.where to go next?is vitalogy good?
Well there's some good stuff on all of them. I suppose 'Vs' is pretty consistent but there's still a couple of clangers on there!
even if it's not a cool choice.
Ten has THE HITs on it but kind of dated Bon Jovi stadium rock production.
are both excellent.
...are my favourites.
Vs.>Ten>Yield>No Code>Pearl Jam>Riot Act>Binaural
Gold star *and* a biscuit.
Vs>Ten>Vitalogy>Yield>No Code>Binaural>Riot Act>Pearl Jam
Vs: Some great songs on there. Their most consistent.
Ten: Still great, it's just the production that's terrible. I prefer making live albums based on Ten's tracklist.
Vitalogy: When it's good it's great. Patchy though.
Yield: Consistent, like Vs. but the bar is just lower.
No Code: Some of their finest mellow tracks, but the 'rockers' are a bit shit.
Binaural: A few gems, and at least they're still trying.
Riot Act: Pretty boring.
Pearl Jam: You have got to be kidding me. This album is beyond wank. It's embarrassing listening to them try to ROCK OUT again! Like back when they were MORE POPULAR!
is my personal favourite, closely followed by Ten, which I think is a far more superior album than Nevermind, in terms of establishing 'grunge'. Vitalogy, Yield, No Code and Binaural are all great as well, but Riot Act falls short imo. Haven't had the chance to listen to the self-titled yet.
and then Vitalogy turned me off them however a work mate has really got me bck into them. Eddie Vedder's vocals are amazing. Anyone listened to his excellent work on the Into The Wild soundtrack?
really liked it. Haven't seen the film yet though.
made a DEEP impression on me as a young whippersnapper staying up late at my Nan's house in 1993 - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NaFhg8-cZFI&feature=related at the release of the locks at 3.50 in particular. Just watched if for the first time since then and it still has a certain *something*.
That is all.
Vs>Vitalogy>Ten>No Code>Yield>Pearl Jam>Binaural>Riot Act
is their best record...Ten is outstanding...personally i really like Vitalogy, Yield and the most recent self-titled avocado-covered one too.
such a stunningly great band.
perhaps not consistent on record but good capers are they amazing live.
Anyone checked out?
One for the fanboys but there's some real gems on there.
