I've got Black Acetate on, it's fucking bonkers, in a good way. Which of his other later albums are worth hearing?
I find it hard to take seriously for some reason, it's a bit... silly...?
it's Cale trying to channel the archetypal British eccentric intellectual, so it's supposed to be a little bit silly, a little bit peculiar. But some of the songs on it are brilliantly crafted
In terms of late Cale the only record i've got is Wrong Way up, his mid 90s album with Eno. And it's not particularly good really. Cheese pop, in a bad way.
It's probably pretty good, to be fair...
And I really do recommend Black Acetate, it's fucking odd, but has a brilliant sound to it. Only a quid on Amazon Marketplace, do it!
It's actually pretty brilliant, lovely stuff. Cheers!
I accidentally ordered Fear, Vintage Violence and HoboSapiens last night, looking forward to hearing them now...
you are supposed to obtain the recordings he made prior to being in Velvet Underground.
Have you heard it? Is it good?
...which I can heartily reccomend.
