my bloody valentine and the 'holocaust'
reet..so...
i were reading the creation records book by david cavenagh last night, and it came to this amazing chapter on my bloody valentine.
it was for the tour of the loveless album, just after they had almost bankrupt the label...
anyway...the sound...this is what im getting at...apparantly the sound was so unbelievably loud/powerful etc etc, at one ten minute period during the gigs that poeple would just go nuts, chests would hurt etc etc, people would have to leave, and apparantly it was called the apocalpyse
a US critic, mark kemp, said of it
'after about thirty seconds the adrenaline sets in, people are screaming and shaking their fists, after a minute you wonder whats going on, strobe lights are going mad and you begin to feel the throb in your chest, after another minute its total confusion, peoples faces take on a look of bewilderment, the noise starts hurting, the strobes start hurting, the noise continues, after three minutesyou begin to take deep breaths, som people in the audience stoop down into the crowd to cover their eyes and ears. anger takes over, a few people leave the room. after about four minutes a calm takes over. the noise continues. after five minutes a feeling of utter peace takes over..'
this sounds amazing...
soo what i was wondering
a) did anyone experience this at one of the M.B.V. gigs
and
b) has anyone experienced anything like this with another gig and another band.
