I want that song played at my funeral when I die.
i've been listening to the reissue of the freed man a lot and hadnt realised how good it was until now. 2 weeks until i get to see them!
I can't wait...
lou barlow is such a dude!
It's got 10 songs on.
I've got it on vinyl.
Oh and check out Jason Lowenstein's solo effort (less well known than Barlow's but worth investigating).
Life Isn't Fun Anymore (or something like that) that I have just discovered has escaped from my iPod.
...are my favourites (but then again, I'm the type of person who prefers R.E.M.'s Warner albums).
I'm a penis. It's by Eric Gaffney (and still on my iPod).
Beauty of the Ride three times in a row last night. First the single version, then the Harmacy version, then the single version again. The single version appears to be in a different key to the Harmacy version. Is this the sort of thing you wanted?
very good show. Unexpectedly met an old friend playing in the support band and left gig with him and Mr and Mrs Barlow. Gaffney and Lowenstein were chatting to fans while loading the van and all of the band seemed like nice people. Looking forward to seeing them at ATP. Bought two vinyl albums recently, Weed Forestin and The Freed Man, Weed Forestin sounds like hash psychosis demos. First I remember hearing them was John Peel playing Gimme Indie Rock around 1991. I have The Breeders doing a great cover of The Freed Pig :)
That is surely a thing of legend because Barlow wrote Freed Pig about what a dick Mascis was. The Breeders then covered it while Macsis was producing them. So he had to produce a song about what a dick he was...
I would have loved to have seen the reformed Dinosaur Jr and called out requests for that song...

related to Dean Gaffney?
Is anyone going to the Brighton gig on Sunday?
Harmacy is excellent.
yes, Eric Gaffney is related to Dean Gaffney.
