o hai guyz
remember Return To Cookie Mounatin?
IT'S STILL REALLY FUCKING INCREDIBLE
Playhouses = Best sounding song ever
you've just inspired me to play air drums along to playhouses right now. Still awe inspiring
It is fucking incredible. NEED ANOTHER ONE!
(for me anyway), even though it must be almost 2 years old.
It was a massive step up from the debut and I can't wait for the next one. I really hope it comes out this year.
Tell it preacher man!
I seriously love this record/this band.
though I still reckon it fades towards the end. Might just listen to it again and see if I don't disagree with myself.
I think the second half is better than the first. Don't really get why people love Province so much, as much as I love Bowie, I think it is probably the weakest track on there.
"Just like autumn leaves we're in for change"
that's why i love the song so much. it's the bestbestbest line.
surely the first track is the first track you put on? i always have to listen to it as a whole album. it deserves it.
province is second after i was a lover for me.
let the devil in is the best song live though.
Let the devil in. Although I have a live version they did of Blues from down here and that kicks ass.
or rob da bank session? or another one??
they are incredible live.
it may well be an xfm one as I have a few from there.
although it took me ages to get into. Tonight is just the most beautiful thing ever.
seriously incredible stuff.
i was a lover is the perfect opener and province is mindblowing and the drumming on playhouses amazes me every time and blues from down here is just sublime.
but there's just something about it that stops me loving it. It might be that it lacks a bit of feeling (or maybe i should say pathos cos physically i feel it) for me in places. None of the lyrics really strike a chord with me, or are very memorable, which is strange cos i love the vocals, but i don't find them drawing my attention to the words. In this sense I find it has similarities with the Yeasayer album (also in terms of production too).
ive always liked it,
i dont understand why it gets slagged off...
brilliant band. they really need to get over to england soon! province has been a tear jerker in the past
I play this every 2 weeks at the very least. Amazing album.
is just awesome.
Really beautiful song.
that was nice
i think it was probably the highlight of my gig going life.
quite a bit.
Yeah me too!
There live dates are so rare. Especially in the UK.
Its so frustrating.
I know they toured with Nine Inch Nails once :/
there's a youtube video of them playing 'dreams' with the NIN fella in soundcheck. it's pretty good.
Took me ages to get into it, I use to just skip to Wolf Like Me, but now the whole album just blows my mind. The production is just so fucking dense and thick, i love it. Also love the vocals, melodies, lyrcis etc. i.e. everthing. iPod + This Album make my fortnightly shops at tesco a fucking dream!
my username being in brackets???
I'm playing this album for the first time for about a year and a half. I did like it then, especially Wolf Like Me, Province etc... but playing it now it is just immediately jumping out at me, stunning me at every turn. Funny what a little bit of time can do!
that is all...
I can taste the ocean on your tongue
