CAN I BREAK AWAY?
what is that?
i thought 'taproot'
i played disturbed, limp bizkit and papa roach. everyone was loving it. i can smell the revival.
who experimented with masks (slipknot, mushroomhead) and comedy makeup (mUdVaYnE)
Like Ill Nino
I think they may have been non- nu-metal though.
And - if i'm not mistaken - have just released their fourth or fifth album. Perseverance, eh?
when the revival starts!
like there's a great mystery about what it'll sound like
i own 6 Sevendust albums, 3 One Minute Silence albums, 3 Slipknot albums, 3 Orgy albums, 1 Limp Bizkit album, 2 Mudvayne albums, 1 Union Underground album and 2 Cyclefly albums.
you only have one limp bizkit album, and no KoRn albums?
3 slipknot albums, 1 papa roach album, 2 linkin park albums,
(meds you win.but seriously 2 mudvayne albums?!fucking 2?!)
And technically i have 3, i just didn't buy the 3rd one :p
Shut it, Papa Roach fan...
I own 6 Korn albums, 2 Limp Bizkit albums, 3 Slipknot albums, 2 Staind albums, 5 Sevendust albums, 3 Mudvayne albums, 3 Taproot albums, 3 Cold albums, 4 Hedpe albums, and records by Linkin Park, Orgy, Ultraspank, American Head Charge and all manner of British derivatives. I think i 'win'.
No (more) mentioning of:
Stuff that I'm more likely to have forgotten about/repressed/never heard in the first place plz
"take a look around, you forgot what you came here for..." etc.
:D so so so much!!!
I did just donate the following to charity shops though:
Dry Kill Logic
40 Below Summer
My ventures into nu-metal were few and far between and short lived. I was too much of a punk-pop kid
My collection was a plethora of nu-metal. I entirely avoided the pop-punk movement though, and i did still like some good music
"In the following years they released a new album ‘Lessons’ which despite also being critically acclaimed, never recieved the attention of its predicessor. What became of the band afterwards is unknown although it is safe to assume that they split up."
can you say "impressive career in telesales"?
i'm disappointed not to make the 'cut' in the thread name. is that because i gave all my nu metal albums to sarky? :(
I've only ever had nu-metal discussions with shucks and pieces. You'll be duly noted for future use!
on here of my holding a one minute silence album and everything!
I REALLY need to find my copy of the Trust Company album.
To be guntrip-centric then, have you read the leaked World War Z script? I can't find it anywhere but the screenplay writer (fucked if I can spell his name) is apparently wigging out on the IMDB board
No guntrip-centric posts EVER
i can't get on DiS between 10 and 12. i haven't read it, no. i would imagine JMS would be a bit angry, he's always been the type ;)
i fooking love it!
...you can have the two of mine if you like :p
they may have been ditched at my folks' house. First two albums
but werent deftones considered nu metal at one point?
they actually ruled
with miocene :D
What happened to miocene? I seem to remember them being the best out of a bad bunch.
album that flopped. I only had the EP.
they spent like four years working on this album and it was actually really good - like a metal version of 65daysofstatic. apparently they spent like £12000 recording it or something.
they finally released it, had their first bunch of live dates in three/four years lined up, and then the bassist quit. they spent a year looking for a replacement, couldn't find anyone suitable, so split up. kindof a shame, really.
fucking worst band of all time
surely i meant no?
some really corny drawings and gave them to the singer at a signing session. Criiiiiiiiiiiiiinge.
and what was his reaction?
Spineshank's faces but their bodies were those of the female anatomy.
He giggled and gave a look of "dude, you suck. But i'm aware that my band sucks more"
he thought his own band sucked though.. these nu-metal bands have such esteem problems..
I never really liked Spineshank. I need a pop-punk thread to really excel
but I will agree on the pop-punk having seen all the american rejects 5 times live.
haha s/t FTW!!!
does he use the word "kambucha" or something like that?
"the kambucha mushroom people sitting around all day!" is it?
it was all about playing the intro to Chop Suey over and over and over again.
on the grounds of the Kerrap! review it got - that was a tremendous day. Not Toxicity release day so much, though.
"Turn me on, turn me on, Mr. Deadman, YEAH!"
that debut is a beast
If you add in 'playing Warhammer 40K, whilst listening to 36 Crazyfists and watching WCW on Channel 5' into that equation, you've pretty much got the best thing ever.
Dark Angels rule all.
the was a club night in Brighton that went by the name Corrosion, it was in the rather sleek Honey Club, bottle of Kronenberg was 90p (pint was £1.80) entry was FREE before 12pm & the bouncer didnt check ID so much as ask you waht night it was.
One room EMO/Scremo
The other was Rock/Indie/Metal
I remember walkin into the Emo/Scremo room, no one was dancing they were all rather awkwardly sat by the walls, the Metal/Indie/Rock/Pop Punk room were full of the sort of people you would probably hate BUT IT WAS AWESOME! They specialised in playing Nirvana, Soundgarden, Smashing Pumpkins, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Limp Bizkit & oddly Modest Mouse & Biffy Clyro O_o
anti climatic :P
with their comedy album art.
I'm scared to listen to them again now in case I find they're really shit.
will never be shit. NEVER!
their last album was my favourite.
Good album! Everything else after was pretty 'meh.'
And S.C.I.E.N.C.E. is grander still.
I roadied for a nu metal band, such was my love for them, how sad was that?
oh also, honourable mentions for Breed 77, Earthtone9, Cold... so many great but not so bands...!
The Cold / Limp Bizkit / Soulfly lineup at the QMU in Glasgow was the best thing that ever did come to this city
sounded like a Primus cover band. Mad propz.
Vitamin! A Certain Shade Of Green! Idiot Box! Redefine! New Skin! Favourite Things! Nebula!
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> anything on MV
the song a crow left of the murder>>>>>anything theyve ever done :)
b) that claim is enough to call into work sick. Why are you in the office??!
it was a ridiculous claim but i fucking love that song.serious love :)
my favourite would have to be Sick Sad Little World. Or Leech.
I once played Light Grenades when i worked in a music store and it disgusted me so much i haven't ever dared do it again. Can you comment on it?
theres maybe 3 or 4 killer songs (im using the example of anna molly as killer i think its a GREAT song) other than that its pretty tedious.im gunna stick s.c.i.e.n.c.e on when i get home and mosh out!!!
I think it was the whole 'funk' thing.
Apparently they toured recently and played nearly everything off their first record as no one bought the new one. :D
they were actually pretty good in Glasgow. It was dead though.
"LET THE BODIES HIT THE *TSH TSH*
"I JUSSSSS LIEEEE"
I'll need to listen to that again soon
but what was the song by hedPE called that was featured in that film about elvis that starred kevin costner?i got it on a free kerrang video.it also had plug in baby on it.i loved that video.yeah so what was the song called?you will know meds
BUT, if it wads the same time as Plug In Baby, i suspect it'll be off the Broke album. The songs off that i suspect would be on a Kerrap! video are only:
Feel Good (feat Serj Tankian and Morgan Lander)
either of these?
that song is awesome.i wish i still had that video.im gunna youtube it when i get home
That's the first line though
AND I HATE YOOOOOOOOOOU
(y'know whut, y'know whut?)
it's all. in the fam-i-ly

forfeit the game, before somebody else takes you out of the frame, and put ya name to shame, cover up your face, you cant run the race, the pace is too fast you just wont last!
or even RATE Korn albums:
1. Follow The Leader
2. Life Is Peachy
3. See You On The Other Side
6. Take A Look In The Mirror
Head lost his power to do so when he quit to become Jesus
but Machine never grew. And i gave up on them after that.
IN A KETCHUP SUICIDE!!!
ive got that T-Shirt

:D:D:D well at least you tried!!!!
whats happened to GS3?medulla you got the answer?
but will be back next week.
Don't panic, it's not like he's doing anything worthwhile at work or something outrageous like that
ho ho ho.
i totally suck sometimes.
remember your absurd Icubus claim ^^^ up there?
Get yourself some hot soup, some lucozade and watch a movie from under the duvet, you'll feel better soon =)
very clever.you suck :P
of korn is doing a solo tour next month.
expect bag pipes.
that's ruined my day.
i dunno, check it out, but Glasgow has been cancelled for a good few weeks
sorry about that.
all this meatl has got me down with the sickness. i can't help but swear.
I think London was nearer 30.
"Fieldy has stated that his second album, Sobriety, is still in the works. Originally intended to be a hardcore rap album, Fieldy has scrapped the original idea in favor of a jazz fusion style.
Fieldy is currently working with independent rap artist Q Unique, Sevendust and Dark New Day guitarist Clint Lowery on a side project called "Stillwell". The song "Killing Myself To Live" can be heard on their myspace page, the album does not yet have a release date, for it is still in the works."
'jazz fusion style.' - I'm stunned.
Where did you find this info?
that means funk rock doesn't it?
Godhead - MEGA LOLZ! How gash were they?!
Slipknot, Korn, Papa Roach, Disturbed, the 1st Linkin Park, Static X and Mudvayne are all great examples - never belittle them compared to Durst, Kid Rock et al.
Big shout out for "Again and Again" too!
They are far > Papa Roach
papa roach first album>>>pretty much all nu metal
i never really got into Papa Roach; it may sound oxymoronic from someone who owned (owns) so much shite, but they were just that step too far into the 'embarrassing' territory. Particularly their videos
you own not 1, but 2 mudvayne albums! (i think anyway)
but they were at least a little musically technical in places. And the gimmicky make-up got ditched eventually too. PLUS it was no more of a gimmick than a fat, suburban boy singing about how utterly traumatic his life in the U.S. was because *sob sob* his parents separated and his grandmother died aged 92 after living a wholly fulfilling life.
like the rebranded Coby Dick?
1.29 + postage
and only the most recent Papa Roach album. Do i have to leave DiS now?
Here and only here.
just buy the first papa roach album :) tis the greatestest
(he's sick today, you see)
let the bodies hit the floor, let the bodies hit the (quick glass of mineral water) FFFFFLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Kittie's second album.
May i also bring to the table some others:
that did Eleanor Rigby?
That's in response to everyone listing their ones above. Is there something wrong with me?
They were sooooo nu-metal!
Aye, it was Godhead. And no matter what lynching i will take for it,i'm going to stand "proud" and admit to liking them.
