not strictly on topic... Does anyone have any tips for mastering with audacity/other cheap or freewa
Apologies for this not being strictly music related in the fandom sense.
I've just finished mixing an album's worth of home recordings to the extent that I'm reasonably happy. I'm keen to do as much as possible to polish the sound without spending a few hundred quid (I'm under no delusions as to my level of musical talent/commercial potential.)
So far I've got the mixes finalised (they're at an audible (albeit obviously nowhere near a professionally mastered noise) level without clipping) and used audacity to remove DC offset.
Basically, I'm wondering if anyone here has any basic tips for improving the sound with audacity or other cheap/free software. I'm aware that I lack the knowledge and equipment to do anything too clever.
If anyone has any tips etc feel free to reply or PM me (I'll happily mail some mp3's if anyone wants to have an input or a stab at mastering it too)
Cheers, and apologies if this should be in another forum.
