Well I've tried and I've tried and I cannot conceive.
And I still can't believe how much that album is... boring
and maybe the best song on the album...
that song and waving flags are the only stand out tracks on the album, but i still like it lots, i can't put my finger on why. it's not an album i love, but nice album nevertheless and one i will return to.
the rise of >>>>>>>>>>>>> DYLRM >>> open season
i am drunk, apologies. THE DECLINE OF
and there's other CDs I want to own more, so I'll probably never spend money on it
in fact I probably prefer Open Season, and I'm not wild about that either. Lights Out for Darker Skies is great though.
BSP on the whole. because they are boring.
a long time ago !
BSP are a band I've always felt had it in them to do a great album.
The first album had a lot of energy but maybe the songs weren't quite there. Open Season had some good songs but lacked the excitement of the debut. Do You Like Rock Music? has neither great songs or energy and, as Lyle says, it commmits the cardinal sin of being really fucking boring.
It's an utter waste of money and I genuinely feel angry with both the people who reviewed it and the DiSers who reassured me it was worth getting 'cos they were lying to both me and themselves.
but so have all their albums - is that enough to grant their status as untouchable amongst their hardcore fans?
when people praise an album after 3 listens of a leak in the metro on their MP3 player...
Believe me and buy the Songdog album. Or the Sleeping Years which will finally get a UK release in June.
but BSP are a funny band. I have never seen such a band inspire such kind of po faced devotion in an almost scarey cult Scienetology kind of way. if you criticise them they come back at you and in force bordering on court action!
but not this one...
