is a very good album. And not that many people seem to know about it. Just thought I'd throw it out there.
That's why he's a millionaire and one of Britain's greatest and best loved songwriters and musicians.
Seriously dude, think it through before you say it.
not him. Read carefully, before venting your cutting wit. Dude.
Thought I'd recommend it as I've recently got into it.
Cos i read it. But, you know, i'd like to reiterate my point about Brian Eno being a millionaire and a much loved musician, producer and songwriter and hope (really, really hope) that, instead of picking out tiny little details that might make what i'm saying look silly, put two and two together and, hey! LOADS of people must have heard of this record!
Sorry for offending you.
If my recommendation means one person goes out and listens to the record for the first time, I'm happy.
What you said was silly, not to mention pointless, but I forgive you.
I think Douchebag has hit the nail on the head.
LOOOOOAAAADSSS and MILLIONS of people have heard it, including everyone on the DiS forum, and Eno is a multi-multi millionaire!!!!!!
So let's just leave it there. Ta.
"U2 producer" and maybe "that girl from Roxy Music", but this section of his career isn't given that much in the way of critical overkill. And he hasn't been talked about on here for a long while
though Another Green World pwns them both
but I can't listen to it anymore. I once listened to it when hungover, and now whenever I hear it, it makes me feel physically sick.
Deerr-der derr-da-der-der, deerr-der derr-da-der-der, deerr-der derr-da-der-der der. CH00N!!
which I'm not a massive fan of.
But ..warm jets is wonderful. One of my all time favourites. Really love "Dead Finks" which is incredible. Don't know too many who own it and I'm surprised that it isn't held up as an all-time classic whenever people write those lists.
I would say the album is better than Another Green World as well.
I would like to disagree with the point about his pop/rock career not getting much in the way of critical acclaim (maybe it's just me who didn't know he produced U2, for example), but i fear it would be rejected on the terms of it being both "wrong" and "gay". Shame really :)
I like this album alot as well
no way??? a friend of mine grew up in steventon, and is a massive Bowie etc fan, and i'm pretty sure that he didnt know this. i think he thouhgt radiohead's manager was teh most exciting thing there
but suffers from sounding like a cartoon version of Roxy. Before And After Science is better and is indeed one of the greatest albums ever.
I thought as much.
I think his stuff with Talking Heads is great. My favourite stuff of theirs (More Songs About..., Remain In Light etc).
But I do think he's underappreciated as a solo artist
but the song Here Comes The Warm Jets is awsome. I have had that song in my head for ages now.
