which album is the best?
and the title track is one of the finest peces of music I own!
but the flutes and non-vocodered voices detract from it a bit i think, it seems too nice and not "kraftwerk" enough :(
Wendy Carlos who did the soundtrack to Clockwork Orange, not Kraftwerk. Apparently it's been mislabeled on a bootleg CD somewhere.
Minimum Maximum (the live album) gives a pretty good overview.
I'd also recommend this http://www.drownedinsound.com/articles/2806841#r2808113
It's interesting to hear where they came from...
The Man Machine an Trans Europe Express. As a starting point TMM is probably better, but overall i prefer TEE, though theres really not much in it. TMM is more rounded pop songs but TEE is more definative Kraftwerk sound. either way, theyre brilliant, you need them in your life!
nice one tsb
I'd agree about Minimum Maximum. Did you see them on the 2004 tour? I saw them in Barcelona. Probably the best gig I've ever been to.
...Autobahn, Radioactivity, Trans Europe Express & Man Machine. Listen to them in order and hear how they evolved. The stuff before and after is OK but these four were made at the peak of their powers imho.
There's some brilliant stuff on there. Elektro Kardiogramm, Vitamin and Aéro Dynamik are fucking amazing.
The Esthetik Of Destruction.... Oh, my bad. That's Kling Klang isn't it.... That is sooooooo (not) confusing.
